Clifford, I will change the serial to a F-106A, the one that mounted the AGM-48 Standard ARM!

Wow ok that is a funky one. I am so watching.. and would you object if I did the same in 1:48? I love the idea of a STARM on a F-106

And there was a 318th FIS bird that was bombed up with 2 BRUs and 12 500# bombs in S.Korea during the Pueblo Crisis (as a joke for a visiting General). I think there are even decals available.

My dad worked on those darn 106's most of his Air Force career, and I never knew that one of them carried that thing. What year was it? Does anyone know. I remember when they fitted them with the vulcan cannon in the missile bay.

According to the F-106 Delta Dart website 58-0795 was bailed to General Dynamics for test purposes, [f-106deltadart.com/adwc4756.htm] I assume that this included the M-61 20mm cannon install and the AGM-78 comparability test.

Quote: "Project Spike using F-106A 58-0795 of ADWC as an ASAT vehicle with a General Electric M61A1 Vulcan 20MM Cannon mounted on centerline and the modified air-launched AGM-78 Antisatellite missile under the wing. When released from the launching aircraft its motor is ignited. At a certain point in its trajectory, the missile released a miniature homing vehicle which destroyed the satellite by impact."

Here's the link for the 318th Bomber. Look for 59-0417. Scroll about 2/3 the way down. f-106deltadart.com/p..dex.php?/category/20

That's a cool site, thanks Dutch. I am going to have to build that one as well a QF-106A FSAT.(Drone). We, the company I worked for (AEL) converted 188 F-106A's/B's to drones. I worked in the Flight operations dept. We would strip down the aircraft when they arrived from AMARC, and then re-asembale them when they were finished being modified, run them up and trim the engines, test the remote operation then test fly them and deliver them to Tyndall AFB.

Thanks Dutch. I grew up around them and used to go to work with my dad sometimes. Never dreamed that 25 years later I would be working on the same airplanes.

So, after a little research, I have determined that I can build both the ADWC Anti-Satellite Six and the 48th (with 318th mkgs) F-106 Strike Fighter at Osan AB circa 1968 by merely swapping some serials around on the MS 72-91 sheet. See renamed project here: Convair F-106A Delta Dart 48th FIS, Osan AB, 1968 | Project by Dutch (1:72)
