Comments

This is a kit first molded in 1958, molded in bright orange, and it had no canopy, no interior, no wheel well detail, etc. However, my late Father-in-Law worked in the McDonnell Tool & Die shop and worked on the Banjo, so I'm building this "right" as a tribute to him.
I've scavanged parts from the Mongram/Revell F-102 (which was in many ways an up-sized, up-powered F2H) for intake and cockpit - I made the jet exhausts from soda straws, stubs of air-to-air rockets (for the shock cone), etc. It's "old-fashioned" kit-bashing/scratch-building, as no after-market exists ... but it's fun, and I may finish it one day!
