I'm Baozi, a passionate vehicle model collector and assembler. My primary collection features 1:64 scale vehicle models along with some assembly models from AOSHIMA and Tamiya. Recently, my friend and I developed a desktop wind tunnel called Windsible, which I'm excited to share with you all. If anyone is interested in learning more about it, please let me know.

I've never seen this one, before? It kinda reminds me of a Star wars Stormtrooper!
I'll most definitely have to look it up.
You've done a great job with those details though, Tim. I'm guessing you had to make a lot of adjustments, to convert it into axle forward?

The hardest part of this conversation has been the half circle wheel well "caps". A lot of cutting, trimming and puttying to get the look right. It's not perfect by actual truck standards, but I got the look down. I haven't decided on single or dual drive (leaning toward single), but I'll have to adjust the front axle a bit. Not a big deal

It reminds me of a styrofoam helmet to protect small children, or a Sally Field hairdo.
Being from Europe, this truck doesn't ring any bells for me, but I do admire the work you're putting in

Early 60's Modification from Ford to convert the C series to a COE. It's very different, that's one reason I like it...I'm a bit old school growing up in the truckin 70's

That turned out great, mate! Definitely a conversation starter, and I think that you should enter that, in your next local, model competition. It'll certainly catch the eyes of the judges.

Guy, Gary, Neuling & Rui! Thanks a lot for your kind words! Being finally able to put an album on theses P-40 builds restarted the warhawk fire burning inside, there are 2 teethed birds back on the bench. More in the appropriate album.
Cheers

Looking at this, it makes me reconsider buying the GWH P-40 when I can buy this kit for $40. But then again, I don't have your skills. Beautiful model!

Well, the polycap that is supposed to link/sync the left and right elevators fell out during the process of joining the fuselage halves. So I had to saw out the little housing that was supposed to hold the polycap in place and set it manually. Looks like I have one "unforced error" so far...

That Merlin is looking great. Looks like it came with the kit? Must be a lot easier than old resin, lol

It's close to time to add the canopy and mask for paint. Lots of weathering yet to go. And the gun bays are looking a bit bland. Needs some additional paint and wiring.

Time to close up the cockpit and prep for paint. Going to be one of those traditional natural metal schemes with lots of wear and tear...

Yep agreed Ky, my next P-51 will definitely be a Tamiya. How did detailing the gun bays go Marlin?

Still working on them. The fit has had only one issue that was even close to being worth mentioning. The right wing gun port on the leading edge did not fit perfectly. So I have had to do a little filling on the undersurface. The underwing scoop was almost an issue but seems to have settled into place. WARNING: one must fit the AILERONS BEFORE THE FLAPS. Otherwise the photo etched hinge does not get locked into place by the steel shaft from the outboard end of the flap. Missed this so it was unforced error #2...

Okay, after looking at some of the real aircraft, I am not sure there is any detail needed except to weather the bay and guns. I was expecting some electrical or other pipes/wiring, but alas, there does not appear to be any...

I'm back! So the masks provided are intended to be applied to the outside surface. However, it's really hard to mask the interior surface, so I cut the masks and applied them to the inside of the glass and then used Scotch tape for the outside. Leaving the interior a little "over masked, the black primer added to the outside with the flat black interior will create a nice effect overall.

Back at it! Prop is done, not yet weathered. Needs some scuffing along the leading edges.
