@Mona:
The kit is good to build. The lack of accuracy of fit between the tracks at the drive wheel and the hull causes some difficulties. The space between hull and the track covers is very tight.
I´m buliding/painting with a magnifying lamp because my eyes aren't that good anymore.
I will add the chain ball armour, they are missing in the kit but they are a distinctive feature of the Merkavas.

Btw, I have the Esci kit of the Merkava I and I was thinking of a similar landscape as diorama, but I am reluctant to even start since I have never done a diorama before. Your terrain looks very good. What did you use for the fine earth granulation/texture?

As a basis ground, i used AK terrains sandy desert: ak-interactive.com/p..-sandy-desert-250ml/
(some finer and more yellow/less red: AK terrains desert sand ak-interactive.com/p..s-desert-sand-250ml/) On this ground i use:
Faller - Streumaterial, Pulver, Tonerde-Untergrund, rötlich: faller.de/anlagenbau..grund-roetlich-240-g
and
simple clay powder (i know it from keeping ants), mixed with (some) sand as needed. The clay powder hardens (more sand gives harder ground) after being wet.

Some little news. Antennae made from a stretched casting branch. and I added some weathering to the tanks.
I'm considering laying the lines from the coaxial MG. Other than that, i'm about to graduate.

I added the control lines for the MG on top of the main gun and some cloud of dust behind the tracks.
I hereby declare the diorama complete.

Thank you! Unfortunately there is a bit of dust behind the clear part. The seam between the two halfs needs a lot of sanding and filler and I couldn't avoid it completly.

Thank you! The seam between the halfs was a bit of a problem due the different hardness of the plastic. I also recommend tape to mask the clear part and not a masking putty or something similar. For the canopy frames I used small stripes of black decals.

The camo is quite a challenge, but not as infernal ai I thought it would be. First pass allowed me to see were the spot should have been. There was a lot of thing I didn't like, but since I am apply a shading pass over the original paint, I get to redo it and will able to move some spots around and play with the colors proportion.

I also found that there was some shapes that repeats themselves in the camo pattern. So now I have the "dino" spot, the squirell spot etc. Kind of help me to stay regular in the shape of my spots
