Nicely done. but If I may, I think the exhausts could do with some weathering. Dark Iron XF84 as a base and highlighted with copper tones would be my suggestion.

Thanks Gorby! This is my second vacu kit build and this time it feels a little bit more straight forward…
My experience so far with vacu kits is that you have to spend a good amount of time on fitting, sanding and putty work to get a nice base for paint and finishing. Also spending quite some time reviewing old photos to get a good picture of the details. This as there is a fair amount of scratch work to get a decent build.

Thanks Mr D for your comments.
There will certainly be scratch build involved, mainly regarding the details as it looks for now. Otherwise I will raid my spare part stash first in order to save time and frustration.
If you are intrested in vac kits you can also have a look at my first vac kit:

@Mr D - yes you will need some good scissors as a start😅, for the fine tuning of the parts I normally use saw razor blades and sanding paper of variuos grits. Regarding glue I use "normal" Tamyia Extra Thin, the vacu kit plastic is often quite soft and melts easily.

@Skyhiker - Happy to hear that your following with great intrest. Usually the building pace goes down during the sommer period as I have been reminded that we have a garden that also need some TLC…😂
Nevertheless, yes there is planning and ordning of parts going on behind the scenes. Cockpit need to be done, rescribing the full kit, alignment of wheels as the mold was totally off-set. Drill out all machine guns for after market parts etc.
The main work will be to prepare the plane for NMF look also including some aluminum dope areas. Will try AK's metal paints this time. Stay tuned!

Luckily the old Russian saying applies to Sweden too - "we have only 10 months of winter, but all the rest is summer!" 😄

Mr D - regarding reference photos and material, did research some photos and blue prints on-line. In addition I have also checked out some ref builds both in 1/72 & 1/48 for further input on details.
Yes, the PE venting turned out good. Next step is to paint the cockpit and glue the airframe together

Great 👍👍 l like something different n interesting like this.
I recently used the thick tin foil of a hot chocolate lid to make a lost seat belt, it worked really well.
Like the seat.
Thanks for input n uploading 😁👌

Thanks Finn & Cuajete for your comments & intrest! Rescribing up next and then some final sanding to prep for paint.
Will try AK extreme metal paints for the first time in this build. Any experiance, tips or tricks regarding these paints for a solid result?

To add detail to cockpit I used the new "Real Colors Markers" they work well with great coverage and so far the "brush" tip makes the job easy and natural

Cheers for coments peeps, as I said the tips of the markers do all the work but not having too much coffee before also helps 😁

Amazing that I have overlooked this album so far. Also amazing that there are no comments here yet!
John: You built an absolutely remarkable helicopter. A very realistic look/ weathering and a super detailing. I really liked your rotor in which you used parts of Anyz Models. Also remarkable the raised rivets. By the way, I experienced a dejavu in some places 🙂🙂

Thank you so much Bernhard. Your MH-53 sets the standard as the best Super Stallion I've ever seen and I looked at your album many times. I only wish I could scratchbuild stuff like you!
I'm also annoyed ResKit are about to release new engine pods that would have made our lives so much easier 🙂 🙂

Stunnig details and some absolutely great preshading 👍 How did you achieve the "streaking" in the preshaing coat?

The sprues you showed look good. How does it build?
I am impressed by the very clean and precise craftmanship. Perfect panel lining, excellent paint job. Makro proof. Top notch.

Thank you for the comments chaps.
Michael Kohl: It builds pretty well, but it depends on what you're expecting. I really, really enjoyed it, but it takes quite a lot of work to clean up some of the surfaces and there are many, many parts (nearly 300!).

Outstanding model, I especially like your paint job . I will use it as inspiration for mine 😉
As you said, the kit builds well, just adding some details inside and complete riveting of the kit.. (Mine is on WIP stage)

@Jon, I will let you know, it shouldn't be long as I just finished painting stage. Now, weathering 🙂. Oh, btw, I opted for the same markings as yours, the most interesting imo.

Today I took a look at all the pictures again and I am thrilled. An absolutely realistic overall look combined with an absolutely clean assembly. Glass parts perfectly „incorporated" into the contours of the hull: chapeau! And the all small details are very remarkable.
