It's my first car model project. I think it's a crime, but I decided to paint the model in mica blue over black primer 🙂

Martin, you are right - this is not the correct color. I used Mica Blue paint from Tamiya. Overall, this is my quick project to get acquainted with car modeling. I liked it overall, and now I already want to assemble a Lancia Super Delta 🙂

I think you're acquainted enough 😁
It's hard to see, did you clearcoat after decaling? You could lose a lot of decals over time if you didn't.

Yes, I apply varnish after placing the decals and then polish model. I've already started getting better at polishing, and as a result, I'll be doing the next model like this:
1. Primer (Mr. Surfacer) and painting the body with nitro paint: LP or Mr. Color
2. Applying decals
3. 2-3 layers of Mr. Hobby GX-100 varnish
4. Polishing the decal edges and orange peel. For this step, I use Mr. Laplos polishing cloths (2400/4000/6000)
5. 1-2 layers of varnish to get rid of small scratches
6. Polishing with Mr. Laplos (6000/8000)
7. Tamiya Compound
8. Tamiya modeling wax
And then it turns out more or less okay ))
Polishing takes a loooot of time 🙁

She looks great Thomas. Were you also disappointed with the silver paint? I know I was.

Many thanks!
@Martin: yes, the silver coating is rubbish. Don't know why Tamiya did this. I sanded it all off, along with the many seams on the body anyway. 🙂
