I used the good wether today to work on the smaler parts for the Fallout diorama again. The most figures don't fit OOB, so are modified or combinations from different figures from the (up to now 4) figure sets.

Today I started assembling the next 3 figures, including one complete scratch build. I've never done that before, so I'm exited if it works at all.

Thanks. I didn't put too much effort into it, but it turned out quite well. 🙂

Díky, Cítil som potrebu si tie modely osobne osahať, aby som mal lepšiu predstavu o rozmerových a koncepčných limitoch mojich ďalších návrhov. Stavebnice sú to pekné, ale majú občas trochu nepríjemne presadené formy, a následné začisťovanie, najmä na vzperách, ktoré samy osebe majú jeden z rozmerov 0,6mm, je trochu nepríjemné.

Very nice. The little dio really adds a lot to it. Can you share a word or two on the technique you used?

You remind me i have to try to make snow...
Thank you.

Ah. Obviously I didn't specify my question. I am interested in the technique for the snow.

As for the snow, I did it for the first time. I studied the procedures of others, on various forums, and chose the method that seemed easiest to me. In the end it wasn't difficult at all. The basic component was ONETIME whipped putty:
farlesk.sk/c/_old_op..onetime-slahany-tmel
, to which a small amount of water must be added. I first mixed some PVA glue into the water.
This ONETIME mixture must be mixed well and then applied to the surface where we want to have snow.
I smoothed the snow surface to my liking with various tools and then sprinkled the entire surface with baking soda. When the "snow" gained some firmness after a few minutes, I pressed footprints into it, using figures, and ski tracks, using flat surface wheels.
And that's it.
I made two attempts before, the third attempt was already what can be seen in the photos.

Nice. Leaving the surface texture of the foam board for the apron makes it look quite east european indeed. Nice twist. Adding a frame would give this nice dio a bit more of a professional appearance. Just a thought.

Thank you, on my next diorama i would try to find a frame or make it.Do you have any advice for frames?

You can make a simple cover for your dio with veneer or plasticcard just cut to size and glued blunt. Quite a few use readymade picture frames. This is convenient. In my opinion two aspects can make it look a bit off: first if the dio is made to fit the frame and not vice versa. And second if the level of the frame is higher than the level of the dio. This can easily be avoided by putting in a higher foam board. Wooden profiles can be cut at 45° angle and fit around the foam. This allows you to fashion any size you want. I have covered irregular shapes with veneer and with simple card board that I varnished afterwards.
Have a look around here. There are plenty of excellent solutions to be found - and a few which show possible pitfalls.
Half a dozen techniques you will find at my stuff (including not so good ones 😉 ).
