Yesterday the A.90 Orlyonok thundered in front, here are a couple of pictures of this event! 🙂 I added a few things to the kit, such as the prominent framework in front of the cockpit, which I built "on sight" with suitable wire. I haven't been able to find out what it's for - aerials, windscreen wipers/cleaning? - but I know that it contributes quite prominently to the appearance. I also added the various aerials on the fuselage and engine.
Thanks again for the hint about the 'ironed' water behind and under the engine, that was an important tip and came in time, thanks to Robert!

Looks absolutely perfect, Roland! Chapeau bas! (I am happy that I have contributed a bit to this effect 😉 )

Top notch! Does the kit offer the hull with "stressed skin" or did you do this additionaly?

Nope, the hull is flat, but i painted it with highlight and shadow to fake "stressed skin"

I stumbled across the kit (2014 Corvette Stingray (Revell 07825, 1:25)) by coincident and saw that Karl R. (Karl R.) had completely messed it up (release date, name, timeline). He is new on scalemates...
I only noticed it because I was wondering about having the C8 in my shelf. I corrected this mistakes and wrote Karl R. a PM. I hope he understands and above all: can you see what data he corrected on other kits? Hopefully he mixed not something else up.
By the way: the C8 already exists on scalemate since January 2023 - only without a boxart (Corvette C8 Coupe (Revell 07714, 1:25)).

I see he made some changes on the timeline of those kits, but I don't know what is right or wrong.
'87 Buick GNX (Monogram 85-4018, 1:24)
1995 Ford F-150 XLT (AMT/ERTL 6106, 1:25)
Ford Flareside Pickup (AMT 6951, 1:25)
The last one is a future release, but in stash of many mates?

@Eddie ... thank you very much! I see this boxart the very first time. I still see the US box. Cool!
@bughunter ... Thank you for some more. How did you find out?
On the Buick I changed back the timeline (after a short research)
The 1995 Ford has also changes in the timeline but it seams okay.
On the "newest" Ford he changes a lot more and mixed everything up. The model still has it's old kit number but he updated the timeline, product data and a wrong boxart. Changed it back after I researched the kit on the internet and added the "new future release"
The only thing what's left is the review, Bob Hall added.

Yesterday I wrote to Karl R. too and he apologized for the mistakes. I beged him to do some "homework" and thinking about, whether he can remember any other changes he did.
At least, Tim / scalemates should take a look on the database.

To give you an idea of the size.
Everything other than the cab and the tractor chassis is scratch-built.
Project: Bedford Dromedary.

New photos start at number 10.
This may give the impression that I've completed this in a couple of weeks...it's been nearer two months. Although the build is complete this update doesn't take us to the end of the build process.
Thanks for having a look. 🙂

Thanks Alec. I've tried cast parts in resin before and it wasn't very successful, this time I used silicon as the mould and that made all the difference. It's really easy with silicon. 🙂

Holy moly - what a nice little model! Great work so far 👍 Sorry, I was not in the mood to follow all the nice builds here, so I discovered it lately.
And thank you very much for mention me in the album info 😉

No problem mate, I have times I'm not in the mood to comment, quite often really as I'm a grumpy old git. 😄
I hope to get the final photos posted at the weekend, it's finally stopped raining here so busy doing other jobs at the moment. 🙂

Finally got around to taking some photos of this ridiculous beast, thanks you all for following the build. 🙂

Thanks David. 👍
Thanks Neuling, although you're mistaking me for a proper modeller if you expect a dio. 😄 😄
I have to be in the right mood to to do a dio and at the moment I just feel like building models. 🙂

Wow, very impressive and excellent work with a lot of scratchbuilt parts - love it 👍

Thanks very much Christian. Apparently the drivers didn't love them because they were sooooo slow. 🙂

A small piece of tarpaulin over the first bows would make it even more interesting.
No, it was a joke 🙂 Nice model of a vehicle with British style.

Thanks for CaptGPF for poiting out the scrstch building. I would have completely missed it and thus a very enjoyable build report.
One of those builds that would have looked really good without paint too.
I got stuck with my QLD over the humps as I did not manage to shape them identically. Your idea with the jig might breath in some life into that build again. Thanks for that too.

Thanks very much matiepoos! 🙂
Buggy, I'll let you in on a secret just as long as you don't tell aaanyone else....I just got fed up with working out how I was going to put the tarp on the back and do the lacing onto the tie-downs. Therefore I decreed that it was nice day and they wanted to have the roof down. 😄 😄
Michael: I managed to confuse some others on a different forum about how much of this was scratch-built. Confusion seems to be my natural state and maybe I'm infecting everyone else. 😄
Spanjaard: I've even surprised myself with this one. Am I finally getting the hang of this modelling lark....then I see Frank's work and think how much further I have to go. 🙂
Thanks again everyone for you nice comments and to anyone who has clicked on 'Like'. 🙂
