Getting there... Little bit of PE and then the small pieces will finish off the hull...

Precision approach, Im loving it. Is that putty around the bogies to hull fitment? Just curious 🙂

Cheers Clair... Just for fitting to the hull... The connections between the running gear and hull are extremely loose... Not to mention the rocker arm assemblies have a tendency to be misaligned... Just mocking it up at the moment and see where I need to shore things up... Happy modelling...

Ahhh ok, doing it the smart way, thats something I probably wouldn't think to do.

Cheers Spanjaard... The kit itself isn't too not bad actually... I bought this kit dirt cheap on sale and liked the unusual subject.... I got it for $35AUD and at that price it's definitely worth having a go... The tracks are the hardest part but with persistence you'll get there...

Very nice. I particularly like the AH-1. The techniques to modify/weather the paint applied at the AH-1 might improve the looks of the Mil too. Nice complementary bases. Consider covering the sides of them. The top of them is top.

Thanks so much guys!
@Michael thank you for your input. References I found for mi28 allowed me to go with this "brand new" look, and i would usually gladly weather it, although, quality of the kit is lower than ah1z and I'm not sure it would benefit it, so I left it more "newish" I won't know if I made a right call, I guess, until I make another and maybe weather it. But I do think it's a better route to go. As for the bases, I do think you are right but these types of bases were something new to me and I was not sure how can I cover the sides and/or make them more appealing. And thank you for compliments! 🙏

You can cover the sides with simple sheet. Veneer is an option too. More elegant would be wood profiles cut at 45 degree angles and added as a frame. But I am afraid that whatever technique you choose, the challenge will be a small gap between cover/frame and base. This is easily closed with almost any kind of stuff as long as the base is under construction. Now with the base already painted nicely it may not be that easy.
But maybe it motivates you for a go at the next project. The skills are definitely there. 🙂

Haha thanks for the suggestions. As this project is done and no longer with me, I'll have to improve upon the next one. Veneer or something similar, maybe thin sheet of wood or something like that.

The instruction isn't mentioning the stand at all. As the torpedo is under the COG I would try to fix it to the torpedo.
Very nice progres so far. 👍

Leaning that way, Nicolas. I don't like it, but that's probably what I'll need to do.

@Mr D, the Devastator was a pre-War torpedo bomber that was one of the most advanced aircraft of its time. Unfortunately. it was already obsolete at the start of the war. It was slow and underpowered, and early-War tactics left its crews extremely vulnerable.

The Douglas TBD Devastator, was the U.S. Navy's main torpedo bomber. It was introduced in 1935, but was obsolete by 1939. They were replaced with the Grumman TBF Avenger.

Both coming along really nicely now, the flap lines look a lot better now.
Looking like all the build updates.
Good luck with next steps 👌😁👍👍

Thanks, Mr D. I'm trying not to let the asymmetry bother me on the black-primed model. I wish I'd made a template or measured them instead of trying to follow the old panel lines. Still, I'm glad I made the effort.
Pure improvisation, Casey! It seems to be holding up so far. I want to do open or partially-opened canopies, so it didn't make sense to glue them in place, which is what I usually would have done.

It's very hot and dry where I am right now, and the paint isn't responding the way I'd like. I'll have to come back when conditions are better.

Nice colours, the wing surface doesn't look to easy to mask.

Hello, and thank you for your comment. I learned a lot from the build, so am looking forward to building my next Mi24 soon. I use Mr. Hobby in general, both H27 tan, and H80 Khaki green. The blue was initially painted in H45, but I had to tone it down quite a lot. You can probably go by a much lighter blue
