Unlike the previous 2128 kit announced last year link: M2 Mobile Gun System 105mm (Magic Factory 2128, 1:35) , this one is official from the Facebook page.
1 April, 08:34

Well, isn't it an April fool announce? It looks toooooooo weird! Like a vehicle in video game or comic.

By accident I had an idea for a funny scene yesterday. The crucial think was to find a running figure an a little motor for running propeller. Today I had to play dr. Frankenstein to get the right shape of my running mechanic...
Choppa: Not really in flight but with turning prop and in "motion" (mechanic AND his plane...🙂 )
1 May 2017, 14:12

sounds intriguing and amusing, looking forward to seeing how it pans out 🙂
1 May 2017, 14:59

Murph the mechanic fleeing his own plane ? I'm curious ! The P&W looks perfect.
2 May 2017, 19:11

Martin: of course the engine is functioning!!. Have forgotten to upload a picture. See the last picture #15 🙂
7 May 2017, 17:34

Choppa: I'm really fascinated by Lego Technik. What you sea on picture is a mine loader and 50% my property: pay the half, build the half (the other half payed and build Alex my son).
7 May 2017, 18:12

haha, that's the nice about having kids, you can buy them the toys you've always wanted😉 😄
7 May 2017, 20:52

1974...indeed an old princess!! In this year I was 9 years old and begun to build papermodels of Mały Modelarz...
8 May 2017, 12:04

Believe it or not: Tamiyas kit of the Buffalo is more than 40 years old. Amazingly it can still keep up with today's standards. Unfortunately the kit offers clear parts for closed configuration of the cockpit: all three parts (windscreen, moveable part and the turtle deck) are molded together. Separating the parts does not help because the thickness of the material the middle (moveable) part is too high.
About 20 years ago I already build the Buffalo and vacumformed all three parts using my toaster. Just now I found leftover parts in my "vacumformed spare parts box"!!!!! Surprise!

Ja das ist der ole Bausatz.

It is very stunning: Humbrol has more than 150 different pains but no semi mat yellow... two days ago I hat to mix 50% H154 and 50% H69. I know that mixture does not dry fast (to days at least) but each time I'm scared that it never will...
16 May 2017, 18:08

Beautiful flashy yellow ! Which colour will the checkerboards be ?
20 May 2017, 18:04

Das nenn ich mal ne prompte Bedienung : Kaum gefragt - schon fertig lackiert ! 😄 Sieht klasse aus !
20 May 2017, 18:37

Hanno: bitte Danke gerne.
Decals in place minus plane name: Thunderbarell. I used red ink and caligraphic pen to paint (write) the plane name on transparent decal film.
21 May 2017, 19:42

Thank you Mates. Im glad that you like my Barrel.🙂
Nearly for one week I tried to make the airplane's name. The first run with pencil and red ink was not satisfying. Then I tried a copy of a pc-drawing via laser printer. It worked but I was not satisfied with the result again. At last I tried the same at home using our Brother ink jet printer and ink jet decal paper. Again without success.
At last I used red dry transfers for the letters and Lines for the bolt. Had I known this earlier...😉
26 May 2017, 15:16

Flawless looking Buffalo, never knew they did races. Interesting subject indeed. The finish looks superb, and although markings are minimal, they sure look great.
28 May 2017, 07:07

Absolutely fantastic scheme. These are great kits, I built mine as a "captured" Japanese bird
28 May 2017, 14:34

Poor Guy, hope he can catch up with his haywired bird ! Lovely scenery excellently executed as usual 👍
2 June 2017, 07:51

Bernhard, just found the article on Modellversium - I missed it here. What a cool little story telling dio 👍
Great workmanship, and I like the idea with the "plug and play" connection between aircraft and base. Well done again my friend!

Decals in progress
Project: Sukhoi Su-30 Flanker-C
48 27 February, 13:23

Lol, well I must admit Zvezda is not my favorite brand, but it wanted to be made.
28 February, 15:41

I've decided with this model not to get caught up in Advanced Modelling Syndrome by correcting the design but rather try to work with the kit. This presents it's own challenges seeing as I have to adjust and connect misaligned parts without damaging the raised panel lines. But I hope that even with this extra work it will still be faster to build than correcting the design.
1 March, 12:39

I have a sneaking suspicion that Zvezda mixed resins or other poisonous chemicals in with their styrene. I got a reaction in my sinuses, from sanding the plastic, which I've never had before. I really need to get better at taking more precautions with this hobby.
1 1 March, 20:39

It is good to know that I have to watch with any Zvezda kits I may buy. That is a terrible practice on their part.
1 March, 21:48

Maybe it was from the debonder or maybe it's just a coincidence. I don't know. Zvezda is based in Russia, I'm not sure how controlled the plastics are there or how bad the black market is for chemicals. I doubt Zvezda would intentionally use toxic chemicals. If there is an issue I would imagine it to be with their supplier.
1 2 March, 00:33

Zvezda (Star) from Russia is next to Amodel and Modelsvit from Ukraine my preffered choice for Russian jet fighter, i have, let me think, 100 kits from Zvezda bought in Russia and never experienced any problems on their polystyrenes. The usual wet decals got better recently, but still sub-standard (always auf Begemont on standby), but most importantly i get model variation that nobody else has, and some of their scales are pretty accurate. You also find their makes back in Revell or Italerie cartons. Amodel is horror and real sanding nightmare in terms of fit and accuracy. On this SU-30 i gonna watch and with excitment.
3 3 March, 12:48

Nice Aircraft, l really like a Zvezda kit 👍
It's a sanction's issue with Zvezda supply! It's the government's that war with each other! the people suffer.
The SU-30 is a great looking aircraft, l really enjoyed the paint job on the little 1:144 l just finished.
Got the 1:144 Berkut in now Skyhiker 👍
1 3 March, 22:03

Mr D, It's unfortunate the crazy times we are living in. l bought my Zvezda kit on Kleinanzeigen when I bought someone's entire stash so it only cost me 5 euros. Sometimes you can still find good deals online.
3 March, 22:25

The Flankers really have very elegant and sleek designs. For jets they're beautiful.
1 5 March, 12:14

Lol, well the kit engines were just so wrong they need some adjustments.
1 5 March, 15:37

After priming the model and improving the engine details I spent most of the day mixing colors trying to find the correct tones for this plane. Eventually I figured it out.
1 5 March, 19:02

What colour scheme are you going for ?
The tricolour blue's and Gray?
Like the extra exhaust details.....will be much better now.👍👍
1 5 March, 20:20

Mr D, yes I am re-creating one of the first Su-30s delivered, so it has blues and grey. It is not as vibrant as the later planes. I had to mix a few colors to get an accurate color tone. I posted a photo of the paint test. Good Russian colors are hard to find and I don't use laquers anymore for health reasons. If it doesn't clean up with water or alcohol I prefer not to use it.
1 5 March, 20:45

You going for the Vallejo Model Air 71.334, 71.335 and 71.337 or similar blues and grey?
5 March, 20:49

I'm not sure. I don't normally use Vallejo because they're too rubbery, tough to spray and tend not to sand well. They do brush on quite nicely though. I posted an image of the color test. I generally use AK 3rd generation because of their accurate colors or Aquaous because they are just great paints that sand well. I do have a decent amount of laquers and enamels but I try not to use them to avoid the chemicals.
5 March, 21:03

Yeah, those colors are pretty close. Nice job on the 27. How did the paint work out for you? Like I said I pretty much gave up on Vallejo.
1 5 March, 21:12

Melf Boyens, it's good to hear you haven't had any issues with Zvezda kits since I have an awful lot of Russian planes to build and most of the kits are from Russia or Ukraine. I assume the problem I was experiencing was a reaction to the debonder. I just have to remember to wear a mask and gloves more often.
5 March, 21:31

I hear that a lot about Vallejo and they work for me. The mecha primer is awful, but the colors are different. I think most of the problems come from differences in humidity and temperature, they seem to be sensitive on that or people overthin them because everywhere are the laquer thinning ratios mentioned, wthout context. I go for unthinned Model Air or only a drop of thinner and slightly under 25psi. But most of my tip dry and clogging problems went away after I switched to the H&S Evolution '24 and shaking the paint with a vortex mixer for ~30 - 40s.
5 March, 21:54

A vortex mixer is a good idea. I hadn't thought of that. I got a H&S Infinity Two in One this Christmas. With the biggest needle it might work but the 0.15 would probably be too small for Vallejo. I might try them out again with my cheap GANZTON airbrush first beforehand.
1 6 March, 00:29

Hi Skyhiker, I've recently been using lCM water based paints, l mixed some decent Su-30 colours for my latest build from ICM, they dry nice and hard too, need alot of thinning as they are very thick.
Your right.... Health first 😃👍
6 March, 17:22

I didn't know ICM made paints. Aren't they from Ukraine? I'll have to keep my eyes open for them. Ok I see they have a whole range:
3004 Palette of 80 colors, ICM , Acrylic, 80x 12ml
6 March, 21:01

Some nice progress 👍👍 can see some nice shading there,
Yes they are from Ukrainia, they have definitely helped me out with colour matching, l first used them on my Yak3 as they did a soviet aviation pack.
Good luck on next paint stage 😀👍
8 March, 17:52

Mr. D, I did add panel shading on this one, although I always try to layer over it enough to make it as subtle as possible. You would never find a real plane that has anything that looks like panel shading. Most people overdo this technique, but I think if you blend it in enough it can add some depth to the model without looking too strange.
1 8 March, 21:23

A bit more painting done in between my wife walking in every 10 minutes.
1 9 March, 16:53

Looks great 👍. good job on paint 👏
I'm really glad l added a SU-30 to my collection as they look fantastic on Display.
Good luck on the next steps 👍
11 March, 11:11

Well I'm not convinced with the colors, the hue of the dark blue is too cyan colored. I may need to go buy some other paint.
11 March, 13:03

I went and bought a bunch of paint only to come home to find out they are all colors that don't look like the real thing. I tried Vallejo air and Hataka acrylics. I even bought a few 3rd generation general colors to see if I could get close since they don't make Russian colors. But all to no avail. I guess I will have to mix my own. At least I know I can mix a decent color if I have the proper primary base.
11 March, 20:19

I'm not sure if you can see the difference but I adjusted the blue to a more accurate hue. I hate mixing my own colors because it takes time that I'd rather spend building. When you have to mix the same color later, even if you write down the formula the colors are always a little bit different and you have to spend time adjusting them. This is because the drops from the bottle aren't exactly the same amount every time and the paint isn't always mixed well enough inside the bottle. But sometimes there just isn't any choice. I was surprised how off some of the colors I bought as Flanker sets were. They worked together as a set but they didn't look anything like the real jets and simply weren't realistic.
12 March, 12:18

The decals are pretty yellowed and not accurate. I'm going to have to paint parts to make it presentable.
12 March, 15:11

Skyhiker, I've been spending a ton of time on various YouTube sites, painting minis, visiting artists' sites, etc., trying to learn as much as I can. One suggestion coming from an artist's site is that when you mix your own paint, mix enough and then put it in a container so that you have some for later, like an empty paint jar. I wish I had known this for the Memphis Belle as I had to mix paints repeatedly, and I ended up with a patchwork of colours as I repeatedly tried to reproduce the same colour.
12 March, 17:05

I usually mix enough paint for the build and store it in jars but if I ever need to make repairs after its built, say if it gets scratched or something breaks off, I have to remix the paint because the paints usually dry out after a while. It's not a problem, but I just don't like doing it.
1 12 March, 20:21

It looks right now l think, I've looked at some early SU-30 photos and l think your there now.
I find colour go a little darker after the clear coat .
Nice job 👍👏
12 March, 22:58

Today was put a layer of paint on.. wait forever watching paint dry... Put another layer on... Wait and repeat.
1 13 March, 19:27

Several of the photos I have looked at have similar colors to the Hataka paints. Interesting this plane seems to have been repainted with more vibrant colors at some point. Colors aren't standardized in Russia like other air forces, hence the confusion.
15 March, 12:58

I will try using the Hataka colors for the SU-27UB that I have in my stash when I build it.
1 15 March, 13:00

Nice complexity on the engines, reminds me of my Su-30SM when I spent two weeks just to paint the engines 😆
16 March, 21:50

The engines sort of worked but I think after the weathering they will look even better. Using acrylic for this kind of job is all new to me. I need to use water based paints from now on unless absolutely necessary.
1 16 March, 21:56

I bought an air quality monitor and find that it inspires me to wear my mask more often.
1 16 March, 22:27

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I could get the acrylics to work but it seems like it sort of did.
19 March, 20:06

The Engine,s turned out very well,... They look accurate 👍 l only used acrylic's ...there are some great acrylic products out there.
Looking good 👍👍
19 March, 20:35

I used Aqueous silver H8 as a base and mixed different colors into it with other acrylics. I find Aqueous to be one of the best water based paints. But if you need a chrome finish then you have to go with enamel such as Xtreme metal or a lacquer like Alclad II metal
1 19 March, 22:48

I understand that there are some powders that you can rub on to make a high shine metal finish. I'd like to try those out some day.

WOW, WOW and a couple of extra WOW's!
Amazing result Frank. Without doubt the best Golblin model I've ever seen.
I bet Halberd Models would love to use your photos for their marketing.
1 11 March, 09:44

It looks so weird but very nicely done - superb craftmanship 😆
1 11 March, 10:21

Very well built and finished. I wonder how they ever thought this would be a viable fighter.
1 11 March, 11:42

Thank you very much mates!
I added two new pictures with the protection bow and securing fabric belt. I added also dust pigments to the wheels what I forgot before.
11 March, 18:26

Outstanding work in traditional Bughunter style! And done, in what I find, an unbelievable time frame 👍
2 11 March, 18:31

Alec K said it for me. There's nothing to add. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Actually I have something to add - great photos! 👍
1 11 March, 19:04

What a wonderful feedback - Thank you very much to each of you 👍
gorby - your guess was right! It will appear on the Facebook page of Halberd Models 🙂
Yes Alec, I've been working on it all day - 24 hours a day! And because there wasn't enough time, I added the night. 😎 Joking aside, yes I spend a lot of time. And this winter was very warm here without snow/ice, so my airbrush sessions was not blocked by the iced roof window.
2 11 March, 21:43

Of course I had to come over and check out the glamour photos. Beautiful build and wonderful photography, as always. Such a cool build of a really unique subject
1 12 March, 01:15

The photos are well done to show off this stunning and unique build.
1 12 March, 01:38

Frank, you did a great job! I have no choice but to agree with the previous posts. And frankly, when your name appears on a project, we know in advance what kind of result we can expect 😉
Congratulations on the successful completion of this interesting model!
1 12 March, 10:47

Oh boy... I hope I can get my special hobby somewhere near this... a real stunner
1 12 March, 11:34

Excellent work as usual. I still think this is an ugly plane though. Whoever designed it must have been on a bad trip.
2 12 March, 13:34

Another big Thank you all for your kind words!
@Skyhiker The design was made under strict requirements: it had to fit into the bomb bay of the B-36! Therefore folded wings were a must, the multiple control surfaces at the tail as well and of course the hook is the visible area of the pilot. It also needs actuators for the wing and hook, four guns with ammunition and fuel, all of which need space in the short fuselage - so there was no other way than this egg design. The design was good enough to achieve good performance figures - the "only" problem was the strong turbulence from the mother plane, so it was assumed that a normal pilot would not be able to hook on back.
4 12 March, 14:05

That's one of the reasons it's one of my favourite aircraft. It's remarkable they managed to fit so much into such a small aircraft. I think it's an amazing design.
1 12 March, 15:08

gorby, the unique design and the look (together with the carrier) invited me to buy and tackle this kit.
If anyone would like to see this model live - this weekend is your chance! I will be showing it, along with others, at my club's exhibition in Ergolding here:
11. Bayerische Modellbautage (15. and 16. March, Ergolding DE)
It would be nice to see you there!
1 13 March, 17:53

Thank you Bernhard! Coming from a master like you this means a lot!
Do you want to see it on the EME in Lingen?
14 March, 21:50

I absolutely love it. It is such an odd subject but you certainly did it justice.
1 14 March, 22:48

Thank you very much mates!
The little Goblin aroused a certain amount of interest at the exhibition today so it will travel with me to the EME 😉
2 15 March, 19:42

Thanks mates!
Yes Tom, this little jet will be there!
After coming home from our exhibition this evening, I decided to leave my models packed up for the EME in Lingen.
2 16 March, 19:40

It looks like I was the first one who finished the 1:48 version of the kit, so this model is now also on the Facebook page of Halberd Models, together with link to Scalemates 👍 And I got a very very kind feedback. Thanks to the folks at Halberd Models for creating this kit!
3 17 March, 21:37

That is very cool Frank!! First one. And you've set the bar extremely high!!
1 18 March, 09:14

Kyle, I hope, it will generate more interest and I'm sure some more will follow, may be more in 1:32.
1 18 March, 18:08

I am following along with a 1/32 build on our forum at the moment!! Also very neat to follow along with.
1 18 March, 20:48

Thank you very much for your lovely comments!
Michael, perhaps you weren't expecting such a topic from my bench, but I have broadened my interests a little 🙂
1 21 March, 18:33

How did I miss this one before? Amazing result bughunter! Your work with intricate tiny details always makes me green with envy. I get fumble fingers trying to put things like tiny PE buckles on and you make it look easy.
1 21 March, 20:26

Thank you John four your comment!
It's clear that you can easily overlook a jet project if you only expect biplanes from me 😉
21 March, 21:21

After a great weekend at the Euro Model Expo in Lingen, I'm now back home after a long trip.
The little Goblin won the gold medal for 1:48 aircraft in the Master class in the Euro Model Expo 2025 contest. 🙂

@Tim Many thanks for the visit to my booth, the discussions and the opportunity to explain my models. It was a pleasure!
1 31 March, 19:59

TBH - no remotely surprising Mr Bug, all your work is stellar! Well done, Sir
1 April, 00:33

That one actually existed, and it looks amazingly like an Egg kit. Very nicely done, I like it! Thanks for showing it.
1 April, 08:13

I had the opportunity to see the model live in Lingen last weekend. It is a piece of jewelry and it can even fly! 🙂
1 April, 08:18

Dang, major fomo here… congratulations on the recognition, it is certainly deserved 👍
1 April, 12:01

Well deserved award, Frank! 👍
Agrippa 😄 that leads to the question of what would an egg plane kit of this already egg shaped plane look like?
1 April, 12:14

There is news regarding our beloved plastic modelling from the European Union. No, it is not to be banned, but adjustments are being demanded with regard to environmental friendliness. It is about the ratio of the often few parts (not a problem in itself) in relation to the gigantic amount of moulding sprues that end up in the waste! It is obvious that the new large 1:16 kits will be particularly affected.
Innovative manufacturers such as Eduard are already working on appropriate procedures. The process itself is not new, and there is already literature on the subject, e.g. here (Please see the description about the many advantages!)
link.springer.com/ch../978-94-009-4946-1_4
The practical problems in our field are more likely to be how to label the parts and then reference them in the manuals. It will also be more difficult to check used kits for completeness if all the parts are tumbling around in the boxes without moulding sprues. Small parts in particular, such as those for 1:700 scale ships, will also be easier to lose.

only thing really missing is the "Coleman" lantern's that are often seen with the buses at events ..like the Spring Picnic and Campout or Split Splash , and various other Jamborees ...Really nice bus 🙂

Ich schau die Bilder jetzt schon zum 3. oder 4. mal durch, richtig tolles Modell! 🙂
6 January 2023, 21:52

I particularly like the color choice and the nicely faded paint. Doesn't show that this is an easy click kit.
7 January 2023, 07:37

Sorry @Martin Oostrom :'( I am so sorry 😄 What can I do to keep up our friendship?
@DW ... Man. I don't get all this rust things and weathering never ever. Ich raff's nicht 😄 I hate it. Always have a picture in my mind, how it should look like but never get it done.
9 January 2023, 05:28

THANK you very much for all kind words! Much appreciated and overwhelmed.
This kit was not love on the first sight...i hate the orange plastic to paint...so i decided to use "real car primer" for a basecoat (rusteybrownred) and painted "altweiß" without clearcoat. i wanted an old look, not tooo old - still well used.
The body is sanded till the basecoat came thru and the rest was "easypeasy" with the rust.
About three month later i found the surfboards and built the roofrack.
Now, i like that bus a lot. all doors are still funktional 😉
@Neuling: agree. my favorite parts also are the hubcaps. And the front wheel :-D
@Martin: S O R R Y . Still be friends :-? pleeeeeeeease....
10 January 2023, 14:57

Nicely done, I like it. I have the same kit and I'm planning to do it like a car that was used in my grandfather's little construction company, back in the early 70's. It was some shade of solid blue, IIRC from my childhood days. 🙂
13 March, 10:55

Woww, it's amazing! My favourite detail is the different colored panel on her back. The weathering is very nice, maybe I would leave one or two hubcaps.

Is this some wild fantasy of yours, Bernhard or did this thing really exist?😄 Tells us more about the background

You not only possess outstanding skills, but also outstanding creativeness! 🙂
Megaperl is a bit of a giveway, though😉
8 April 2018, 09:32

Yeah ! The world famous Henkel Cup race winner of 1940 !😉 Du bist vorgeprescht !
8 April 2018, 17:59

Hi Alexander. I wish I could tell a real story of colorful birds flying 1940 in the sky in peaceful competition. In this story, after the first victory went to modified Avia B-135 and the second round 1939 to PZL.45 Sokół, the Germans won the Henkel Cup with the contra prop fitted Bf-109. But unfortunately this is all made up🙂
9 April 2018, 19:50

it is always a pleasure to follow your report, I am always astonished and also find solutions to some of my problems, thanks for the really exciting and informative reports 👍 👍 👍
15 April 2018, 10:24

Windscreen: because of the shape of the upper panel BMF is the best way for masking. Original kit part was very thick (armored glass) so I used an vacuum formed part of S-Model.
15 April 2018, 20:02

Today at the morning I applied the decals and stunned about the quality. Easy to apply, thin, printed without offset and no silvering. Thanks a lot DF!
23 April 2018, 07:42

This is truly something different 👍 Nice splodge of color in the masses of grey 109s!
23 April 2018, 20:03

Excelent raceschmitt 109, Looks so exotic!

26 April 2018, 07:50

Moin Siegfried, gut beobachtet (Eagle eye).
26 April 2018, 08:02

Thank you Hans. "Redstar" was indeed hard to beat but the Spit joined first 1942 to the german races
26 April 2018, 09:32

Hi Bernhard. Wie mir immer song: A good story excuses everything.
26 April 2018, 10:02

Cool looking result Bernhard ! Emil S.C.Herz's achievements in piloting this dashing arrow can't be overestimated. Maybe only ever challenged by

That's a nice interior. Will you make the hull lift off? I personally lack the patience for doing detail that won't be seen. I used to be in the "at least I know it's there" camp but the stash is large and life is short!
21 March, 20:15

Hi John, thanks. I am just like you, if it's not seen, not worth it. In this case the kit expressly direct you not to glue some parts. More specifically top of turret and turret can be removed, drum and drum cover as well. Engine cover can be lifted also. Only the driver seat will be sacrificed but the latch will be open. The kit is very demanding, in terms of patience, the sprues are listed all the way to the letter "Z" and some are duplicated (3 sprues "F"..) and many parts, to get together, direct you through 3 or 4 different sprues. Instructions (30 pages) are not tge best around. It took me a while to start this subject and it is my first (and last) tank, btw...

Nacelles on the wings, starting with the B version of the plane.
Decent fit but there is quite some small air bubbles in...
Project: SAAB B-18 (A & B version)
14 28 March, 18:30

Thank you for all attention and comments. Welcome to the build!
The Saab B-18 is not the most common kit available only in resin or vacu if you what to go for a 1/72. There is 1/48 kit from PilotReplicas to be released sometime. We hope soon!
1 April, 09:17

This track set can also be used on the Amusing Hobby T-80 which I tested after purchasing this set to replace the tracks from the original kit (broke the kit tracks). If used, 76 track links are required on each side instead of 80 as stated on the Amusing Hobby T-80 instructions.

Thanks mates for your interest.
@Micheal Kohl - I used Tamiya spray paint TS-43 Racing Green for the 1/48 build.
1 February, 22:27

Did you choose it after research, as an (educated) guess or because it looks good - which it does?
1 2 February, 13:57

@Michael Kohl - Good question! Researching the green colour for the DH88 took some time and effort.
Reviewing some kit's manuals from different manufacturers the following came up:
• Mikromir: BS381C:225, Light Brunswick Green,
• Airfix: Humbrol Hu3 Brunswick green
• Clear prop: British Racing Green (no code ref mentioned)
• KP: Humbrol Hu3 Brunswick Green, stated as British Racing Green
• S.B.S model: Brunswick green (no code mentioned ref)
Conclusion - BS381C:225, Light Brunswick Green is the colour to go with if you want to be right on spot.
British Racing Green may be a little bit too dark, but it looks very good!😎

2 2 February, 15:18

@Cuajete - Dry fit is quite good regarding wings and airframe, some filler will be needed. The engine nacelles was molded in one piece and the fitting to the wing was perfect. Saved a lot of work.
The cabin is very detailed. A lot of small PE stuff that the rug monster craving for…
1 2 February, 20:00

Thanks J35J for your answer. The new ClearProp-kit for the green version recommends Mr. Hobby Color H-383. Just to confuse even more. 😉. But actually you already summed it up in a pretty clear way.
You chose wood for the interior color. This is in line with the recommendation of the red ClearProp machine and the replica, which was left wooden on the inside. Judging from the bw-pictures available to me I interpreted the pretty dark appearance of the interior as black and colored the interior of my model accordingly.

What I missed is the sunshade these machines had. Maybe you want to fashion one for yours.

1 3 February, 19:59

Thanks Michael for your input. I also went with black interior building the green version in 1/48
This time I will throw in some artistic license and go with wood interior.
The sun shades was new to me. That really need to be considered as I will go with open canopy on this build.
3 February, 20:26

Great work so far 👍
The kit seems to provide more details compared to the MikroMir in 1:48?
1 17 February, 19:54

Thanks bughunter! The kit is excellent with great detail level and fitting.
Resin moulding is top quality. White metal parts for the landing gear have minimum flesh.
Big difference compared the MikroMir 1/48. Would be nice if SBS models also went for a 1/48 version.
17 February, 20:24

All what I have seen from S.B🤔. was that nice.
Another hope is Clear Prop, but until now they provide in 1:48 only a new decal sheet for the MikroMir kit.
1 17 February, 20:33

Thank Cuajete!
Tried AK extreme metal paints for the first time. Wanted an worn alu dope effect and after the first layer it came out too shiny. So went with the matte alu and some flat varnish. Finalized with some light weathering.
1 19 March, 19:58

Thanks Robert & Guy!
Was a nice build. Great kit with top resin moulds.

1 January 2023, 11:20

Vielen Dank Männers. 😊
@ Michael
Ich mag unaufgeräumte Arbeitsplätze nicht. Da ist man nur am Suchen.
@Torsten

19 January 2023, 07:23

You're even building a Diorama for this? Dang. Might need a separate coffee table / display space for this. Looking forward, though, this thing looks great. Recently bought one as well for quite cheap and am looking forward to building it.
19 January 2023, 09:20

Danke Dash.
Da ich sonst Schiffe von über einem Meter Länge baue, kann der hier auf dem Nachttisch Platz nehmen. 🙂
Ja, freu dich drauf, macht echt Spaß den zu bauen.
19 January 2023, 09:51

Oh wow, that diorama idea.... will be... crazy. Really looking forward to that. 😮
2 February 2023, 17:50

2 February 2023, 21:48

Nice that you like it.
True, Han really could have put a little more money into maintaining the Falcon. 😄
3 February 2023, 03:46

Late to the party here, but following along with interest. Great work so far!
10 March 2023, 15:14

Spectacular 👍🏻
Might well be better than the actual film prop - wow - great job and an unending field of details to discover - love the weathering and blaster damage ! 👍🏻
18 March 2023, 14:30

Möge die Macht weiter mit dir sein, Jörg. Bisher sieht der Falke super aus 👍
18 March 2023, 18:15

Jörg, I'm honoured that you thought my little Falcon was a "Sehr schöne Falke", yours is absolut klasse 😊
5 April 2023, 17:40

6 April 2023, 17:09

Und ich erst mal Dietmar.
Mach mir schon einen Kopf wie das Grundgerüst am besten zu realisieren ist.
7 April 2023, 08:04

Stunning. I love the gouge on the underside and the contrast as you flip from the weathered underside to the pristine topside between pic38-39 is a stunning contrast highlighting the work you have put in there. Amazing and inspiring stuff 👍
7 April 2023, 08:11

Guys, your comments are very flattering and mean a lot to me.
7 April 2023, 09:06

Q: Unsure if OP said anything about this, but are the LEDs linked in a serie, or are there multiple wires for all the LEDs?
11 April 2023, 10:16

Manny thanks..
Two LEDs each are soldered to a cable, since I only had two outputs, Treehugger.
11 April 2023, 15:12

I have yet to fiddle with LED's for my Enterprise NCC-1701 refit, but I did learn from some place that, if one place LEDs in a serie, then if one LED fail, they all fail. So probably best to have serveral wires around instead of one loop for such LED projects.
Another thing to worry about, is not having the LED die too soon, but I guess that might be just some calibration thing if building all this stuff from scratch.
Heh I invested in a digital power supply for LED projects some years back, but haven't gotten around to using it yet.
11 April 2023, 16:31

I'm not particularly worried about the LEDs.
They won't often be glowing in the finished model. Maybe at an exhibition or when there are visitors. A permanent light is therefore not provided. It's just a nice gimmick for me
12 April 2023, 08:02

Lieber Jörg
Wenn ich meinen Falcon gedrucktbhabe und zusammenbaue, müssen wir 2 uns mal kurz schliessen und reden wegen der Bemalung. Die ist ja wieder Mega von dir!!!
Gruss
Jörg
19 April 2023, 18:54

I meant whether the indicated tunnel is made of cardboard. You have made a design to that effect behind the hawk
20 April 2023, 02:57

Yes is part of the diorama framework and is then made of stable PVC
20 April 2023, 05:14

Very cool! The Falcon looks amazing. 👍
This is promises to be a great presentation too.
20 April 2023, 06:16

Jörg, every time I check on your project is it becoming more and more awesome. It just gets better and better every time.
19 May 2023, 17:04

Outstanding work. Simply the best Falcon I've seen. Movie quality work on display here.
26 May 2023, 10:06

Hoffe das Dio wird genaus super wie dein Falke, Jörg, möge die Macht mit dir sein...
7 July 2023, 17:06

Danke Dietmar, ich das hoffen auch, weiter ich kommen will. 😄
7 July 2023, 17:31

Thank you Torsten.
It's easier for me now too.
At the beginning I really thought that I would never get the huge free space filled 😅
13 August 2023, 09:04

This will be so amazing when done. Quick question, are you planning some sort of protective case for it as well? Or will it sit in a display cabinet?
14 August 2023, 16:25

Thank you.
Like my ships, the model will go under a display case.
14 August 2023, 16:47

The base is getting better and better, it could have been used in the movies!
21 September 2023, 07:41

I am absolutely no fan of all this Star Wars, Treck, Shmeck, Heck stuff. But the way you build up layer upon layer of details into a very convincing composition is fun to watch. I am sure that the result will impress even me.
21 September 2023, 09:18

Thank you guys.
Yes Michael, you have to like that. When I was 10, my father took me to see this film and since then I've been into the stuff, along with warships.
And building this Diroama was simply a challenge for me that I enjoy.
21 September 2023, 12:05

are you planning to bring this beauty to Lingen next year? please say yes 🙂
1 November 2023, 09:13

Thank you.
I actually want to try that. I think the last time I was at the EME was in 2014.
If I get the model ready by then, you can count on me. 😉
1 November 2023, 09:51

I am planning to be there, so i hope to have the pleasure meeting you and seeing this amazing dio! 🙂

15 November 2023, 10:08

This is astounding! If I recall correctly, kit-bashing is also what has been done on the actual Death Star model that was built for the movie in 1977.
22 November 2023, 13:44

Thank you.
Not only the star, but also the falcon were realized with this system.
The guys from ILM were the creators of all of today's aging and scratching methods that we as model makers know and appreciate.
23 November 2023, 08:58

A lot of grey but it is not boring at all to look at! 👀 👍
This looks great, and is full of details.
1 December 2023, 13:34

Leider kann ich nur ein Like geben, deine Arbeit hätte wahrlich so einige verdient! In jeder Star Wars Ausstellung oder Sammlung sicherlich das Highlight! Fantastisch und vielen Dank für die vielen Bilder!

31 December 2023, 10:46

Thank you very much, Mike.
Also nice to meet you here. 😀
23 January 2024, 14:54

An amazing build! The Death Star especially! Your dedication, patience, and talent has really been rewarded with this build! Well done!
30 January 2024, 11:44

WOW, this is amazing, absolutely stunning build, cant wait to see it all completed.
30 January 2024, 17:22

Awesome, indescribably fantastic. An appropriate base for the falcon. I'm looking forward to the illuminated finale. 👍👍👍👍👍
30 January 2024, 19:10

truly speechless, this build is one of the best I have seen here, the falcon is magnificent, and with the most incredible base you have made, well, it is just perfect!!
so, it is finished in time for Lingen 2024, right? if all goes to plan, I certainly will look for it there 🙂
4 February 2024, 16:53

Thank you very much people.
Yes Spanjaard, nothing should stand in the way of that. It would be really great if we met there and chatted a little.
5 February 2024, 15:09

ZORIONAK! (congratulations in basque language) GREAT JOB !!!
5 February 2024, 15:17

This is one of the best models I've ever seen! It could go head to head with the real models used during the filming of Star Wars.
7 February 2024, 03:46

Thank you for sharing your build process with us - your work is truly amazing and inspirational!
11 February 2024, 16:34

great to see this beauty again, safe trip to Lingen, great success ahead, I am sure. killing myself for not being able to be there to see it myself....
1 10 March, 09:02

All my best wishes to you for the competition ahead but, most important, to your wife.
1 10 March, 09:39

Great to see this masterpiece again! I wish you lots of fun and success in Lingen - I have to go there too, especially when I see how many of us will be there.
But above all: all the best to your wife!
1 10 March, 10:28

Thank you for being happy for my wife. That's so nice to hear. ❤️
And thank you all very much for keeping your fingers crossed. I'm very excited.
It's such a shame that we won't be able to meet there Spanjaard
1 10 March, 12:27

I will echo the above comments, best wishes, and good luck ( I don't think you will need it) with the competition, but most importantly, happy thoughts to your wife. I am glad to hear that she is doing well.
2 10 March, 17:22

This looks superb Jörg! A really fantastic job. You must be so pleased with this. Im not ready to start mine yet but I intend to build a bespoke coffee table to fit it in. It will be a diorama of the Mos Eisley space port and have a glass top. More importantly I'm glad to hear your wife is doing well. Life is precious.
2 11 March, 16:28

Thank you for your appreciation of my model and my wife's health. ❤️
This sounds like a fantastic project, and I hope to see your space port posted here as a build report someday.
1 12 March, 03:49

Congratualtions Jörg, fully deserved. That medal really should be much bigger for such an awesome model 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
1 31 March, 07:08

Thank you all three very much.. Haha Gareth, then I wouldn't even know where to place them on the model. 😁
1 31 March, 07:47

My warmest congratulations too - a very well-deserved award! 👍👍👍
2 31 March, 07:50

First. I'm glad the people around you are okay.
Second. Congratulations on the medal!
1 31 March, 10:52

Very kind of you two. I'm very happy about it.
And thank you so much for thinking of my family, Живко Джаков. 😊
31 March, 10:56

Seeing it a Lingen i was even more impressed, it's a "great" model with a well deserved medal
1 31 March, 18:56

And thank you both very much for the congratulations. 😊

52 5 November 2023, 15:30

Thanks for watching. I'm not entirely sure what will happen myself, but it will be some kind of diorama with a RC-Airfield and a lake. The not sure part mostly relates to how deep the lake will be and whether I need an additional frame or can I get by with my usual picture frame.
7 November 2023, 19:42

The planes are ready to paint, the lake is redy for the water, about half of the figures are cleand up, but that is a good job for afrer work when I usually get just about 15-30 minutes for modelling per day.
26 November 2023, 19:55

A short update:
The diorama is currently at a standstill because I made a mistake when weighing the resin. The resin is still sticky, but is currently on the radiator to dry (not to cure). I hope that when the resin is halfway solid I can fix the problem with another layer.
20 January 2024, 10:47

I mean the project stash alone looks promising. I have to follow this. ...can't resist...
20 January 2024, 11:04

Due to the problems with the resin not hardening, I decided to start the base plate all over again. I bought a new picture frame today and have already glued the plywood panel in place. Of course I will try to salvage as many parts as possible from the first attempt, e.g. the bridge and the reed plants from Eduard.
30 January 2024, 20:32

The new construction of the base plate is making good progress.
4 February 2024, 14:58

Cool project! Good luck with the second attempt with the water.
11 February 2024, 17:55

Respekt!!! 👍 Viel zu klein für mich … glaub ich bleib bei 1/72 und größer 🤣
11 February 2024, 18:37

Thank you both very much. @Atomicdelirium: I Hope to get so far next weekend. Before that, a few washes need to be applied to make the ground more interesting and the aquatic plants need to be added. @Thomas: 1/72 ist mir eigentlich auch lieber, aber als ich die Figuren gesehen habe konnte ich nicht wiederstehen.
11 February 2024, 19:04

Regarding the Walrus' windows - decal stripes perhaps? Black or silver?
18 February 2024, 19:42

Hi Łukasz, thanks for the Idea. I will use an Instruction, scale it down and cut the decals from an "Balkenkreuz" decal from the sparesbox.
Today I tried again with the water. My diorama seems to be tight this time, although the water level has also dropped this time. Hopefully everything will be hard too. But I won't be able to say for a few days. There won't be any pictures until then, unfortunately the diorama can't be moved at the moment.
18 February 2024, 20:01

Thanks Jennifer. This Time it worked better. There is still some internal leakage, as the water level droped about 3 mm over night, but there is no resin on the outside. The resin-residue in the mixing container is after 26 h harder than the first try after 2 month. But with about 5 days cureing time I'm not totally sure yet.
19 February 2024, 18:59

I made good progress this weekend, but I discovered, that "planting" the reeds is suprisingly time consuming with about half of it done in nearly 5 hours.
25 February 2024, 18:32

Since I didn't get to build last weekend due to a hand injury and my visit to the exhibition, I made some progress on the diorama this weekend. Almost 3 hours of work on grass and reeds, as well as the first flowers and preparations for the first bushes / trees and the place for the couple in the reeds have taken place.
10 March 2024, 20:07

Get well soon. Looks good so far. I think the lake turned out great with the stuff floating in it.
10 March 2024, 20:36

Hi Shar, thank you. The lake isn't done. The floating stuff is there just by acident. I'm going to clean is, add some drifting wood in the reeds and a second layer of resin. Than the 2 boats and all the floating gras can be added and fixed with some water effects. I do it that way for two reasons:
1: I got the leak where resin went missing under the frame and the water level is not high enogh.
2: I hope the resin in the first layer has seald the gaps in the reeds, so the second layer will not "climb" due to the capillary effect.

This weekend I didn't do much, but still a little bit of progress.

Thanks for your interest and the likes.
Last week I worked at the figures, partly repainting with acrylics, and starting modifying everything with oils. Work still in progress. there are 2 figures I don't realy like so far, perhaps that will change after a matt coat.

Most of the parts ar together now. Having trouble with my Printer means the decals for the Windows of the plane are still missing. I also realized today that I forgot to build toolboxes, so I made up for that today.

Lovely work, utterly enjoyable to watch this progress until the grand finale - congrats! 👍 👍

Your dio is not only filled with life it is filled with several different stories. So wonderful! So much love for detail! I enjoyed the whole ride from the beginning. As I finally saw the last plane, I thought it would have been a funny twist if it would have been a camera drone over the reed. 😄
Great work, keep it going! 👍
