I have 600, 1000 and 2000 gsm sand papers

I usually gently scrape the surfaces with a scalpel blade, as it can get into small places. Also very good for removing any thin lines from the mould joint line, but used with a little more pressure. Very fine wet-and-dry paper is indeed very useful too. As always, have a little practice on a piece of sprue, holding the blade almost perpendicular to the surface.
