Mercedes Benz G230
This won't do!
Bye bye!
PE pedals leftover from an old build.
Snip, snip!
Pedal backings made with styrene strip.
Levers will be guitar string.
Dry fitting to see what it will look like. Will be painting the backing black and maybe the levers too.
This exhaust isn't great. Thinking I might try and build a side dual exhaust.
Experimenting with colours! This is Tamiya Clear Yellow over SMS Light Bronze. It will be the body colour for this build. A throw back to the 70s, with a modern twist.
I also made an off-white, which an app tells me is called Coral Reef. It is made from combining white, yellow, red and black. This will join black on the interior for a modern two-tone look.
Front grille upgrade.
Chop chop!
Metal mesh.
Cut to size.
Not sure if I will keep it metal or paint it to match the rest.
Some of my best masking yet!
Tamiya Dark Brown Panel Liner.
Dirty, dirty, dirty!
Cleaner.
Added some Tamiya Weathering Kit D.
Discs done in SMS Chrome (Cold) over Jet Black. Callipers are gold sharpie.
0.25mm polystyrene sheets used for chair backing.
Backing cut and sanded to shape.
Adjustable head rests, connected with guitar string.
Centre console and a little mat for added comfort and durability lol.
Pedals attached.
Mat for centre console. Fits like a glove!
Fitted floor mats. These will be flocked.
Front seatbelts. Made with resin buckle and guitar string.
Holes drilled for seatbelts to go into (circled).
Interior coming along nicely.
...with adjustable headrests!
No turning back now!
This will become the new muffler.
This will become the new exhaust tip.
Dry fitting scratch made muffler, made from polystyrene tubing and Tamiya putty. Still working on the pipes and exhaust tips.
Painted in SMS Chrome over SMS Jet Black and weathered lightly with Tamiya Weathering Kit D. I wanted this section to look newer than the rest as it is supposed to be a modern upgrade.
Side exhaust, cool dude!
Wheels attached! These were done in SMS Jet Black with a few coats of 2k over the top.
Seatbelts attached!
Floor mats installed!
Centre console mat completed and in place. All the mats were flocked with gunmetal embossing powder. The edging on the mats was done with 0.6mm braided line.
Dashboard completed...
...and installed.
The boot space looks so bare. Let's fix that.
Boot shelf/cover. This will be flocked.
Why not install a little draw. Could fill it with all sorts of goodies.
No point having a drawer if you can't open it. Off come the doors! Now to google how to make hinges lol.
Drawers painted black. The textured surface is a sheet of lint roller.
Little case made from sticking two pieces of polystyrene together and sanding to shape. The handle is made from guitar string.
Medical box completed.
Jumper leads made from thin electrical wire and staples.
Drawers installed with goodies inside.
Installed little door stops
Tubing on the back doors for the hinges to sit in.
Hinges made from paper clips.
They will connect to the body like this, with the other pieces going into the door.
Tubing on the inside of the body.
Interior roof painted in Coral Reef and SMS Flat Clear.
Had a rethink on the little door stops and decided to change to mini magnets instead.
Some leftover PE on the door side to grab the magnet when the door closes.

Nice progress Pete! Although I've never seen a 4x4 with a dual side exhaust!

My bad. I think I meant to say "twin". It will be a single pipe leading to two exhaust tips.
