Was looking at super-hobby.com for some stuff I wanted, and ordered the KV Models Mask for the canopy. No way I was going to try to mask that on my own… Ordered the Kelik Scale Models 3D decal at the same time. Interesting… looks good though. Attached them with Humbrol Clearfix.

The lower wing was not a great fit. Sanded quite a bit, and two or three rounds of the Putty-Sand-Repeat on the wing-fuselage fairings.
Using Humbrol 19 Red for on the wingtips. Painting the red before the Silver on the fuselage.

I mounted the lower wing to the fuselage, but figured I would leave the top wing off for ease of painting.
I painted the horizontal stabilizers/elevators with Humbrol Metalcote. Let dry and then masked off the tips for the red.
Painted each wingtip with Humbrol 19 Red. Did three coats to get a nice deep red. Had a bit of bleed under the tape, so cleaned that up. Let it dry for a couple days and them masked the wingtips.
Painted the airframe with Humbrol Metalcote. Had to do a touch-up in a couple areas, so sanded with 4000 Grit and then sprayed another layer. Added the top-wing, and had to do a bit of putty-sand-repeat to get a good fit. Finished painting the entire airframe.
Was all excited to start decalling when I realized that the decals don't fit. They are labelled as 1/72, but seem closer to 1/61… Sent an e-mail to BS Modelle, and they are hopefully sending replacements.
