After opening the box you can see the usual short run quality - lots of molding burrs...

To start construction there is a lot of grinding, carving and engraving.

After a few dusty hours, the first parts were removed from the frames and roughly cleaned.

The interior work could now begin.
The cargo hold remains closed, so there is no need to go into every last detail - the whole thing serves more to stabilize the fuselage halves.

Glued on a few pieces of plastic sheet to achieve a better fit between the front and rear fuselage.

Deviating from the instructions, I glued the front and rear fuselage parts and the cargo compartment doors on each side.

After some filling and sanding it looks pretty good. Engravings and details that were lost during sanding have been renewed.

The glue seam on the cargo door is very thin. To stabilize it, I cut the marked part in half and glued it on each side.

After a suitable indentation was scratched into the plastic, the first etched part could be glued on.

Wer bei der Tu 128 von Trumpeter alle Fehler in Perfektion beseitigt hat, muss sich nicht vor der Mi-6 fürchten.
Etwas Spachtelmasse und Schleifpapier bereitlegen... und schon kann es losgehen 😉

The self-cut masks on the side windows revealed a catastrophic picture after removal: something sticky remained on the windows... the hoped-for cover was also rather poor, the paint got under the masks at the edges. 🤬

Now I'll make a calming coffee and then try to repair it.

I scraped everything off with a toothpick, more or less. Not the best result, but the model was able to avoid being thrown away.

With the attachment of the last parts and the assembly of the antenna forest, the helicopter is finished and the project is complete.
