Steven Van DyckI wanted to fix Dunkerque's deck. The hull is a bit narrow so I introduced a fitting piece of sprue before I glued the deck in. So there are no unnecessary tensions on the deck. The Shipyard watertight doors are replacing the kit ones, that are actually as detailed as the PE but I saw on pictures that these doors are all placed open. Some drilling is done to open up the doorways. The front of the conning tower should not have much of armour contrary to the rest of it, because only the internal communication channel is armoured. I therefore did not simply glue the PE plating on it, but removed the thick plastic first.

Steven Van DyckThanks, Mr James. I noticed that the black camo paint shows through the red decals, so I covered these with extra red paint. I also noticed that some Viggens seem to show black de-icing surfaces, though not all. I added it to the model as this was easy to mask. Then I added a gloss coat.

Steven Van DyckThanks. The frame is now assembled after removing of sinkmarks on both beams. These were not present on the four wheel truck frame that is still included. The first set of three SKP lights is added to the rear.

Steven Van DyckThe axles are now added to the frame. Because Trumpeter wanted the springs to be workable, the shock absorbers are cut down. This will be repaired later. The cardans are drilled and softened with glue.

Steven Van DyckI added the RT Diorama Large Wayside Cross to the dio. And then I burned down the church door with real fire, because it is made from wood that is possible and probably the most realistic "painting method"...

Steven Van DyckWelcome. I assembled the container in a few hours, an easy process if you wanted to show it closed down. But the option with open doors is incorrect and needs some changes to the locking system. I had done this with the right door, but it would make no sense to have the pallet loader blocked by the left door so I have to change that one too. I made a sketch of the design for the dio, though the cut might be more oblique to gain some volume.
