Nice bird, but you ad to change the outer wing panels. That because of this kind of mistake that I still have not build mine, although I love french Corsair.

Thanks Eric. The outer wing panels weren't that difficult to correct. I masked off around the panels just inside the panel lines. These are 1mm or so away from the "fabric". I then filled the area with Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty and waited about an hour to sand. Total sanding time for all panels was less than an hour.

Album info

Not a bad fitting kit, however, there are errors. Some other sites have mentioned the cowl and forward gear covers being wrong but I couldn't see anything so I'll leave that to the "experts". The wings are represented as fabric, fine up until the -5 I believe and then they were metal. I filled in the fabric part with Bondo Red Glazing putty and sanded smooth. Because Hobby Boss chose to make one base kit and then use it to create different versions, some parts were a bit fiddly to fit; cowling and ailerons, but with filing and test fitting it work out in the end. There is no option to drop the flaps. The decals in my kits had what seemed to be watermarks on them but you can't tell on the finished model unless you look very close. I had a slight reaction with one using Mr. Mark Softening Solution. It left a white residue around the decal but after it dried I rubbed some more around the residue and it disappeared. I swapped over to my dwindling supply of Polly S and no further problems
