This is the Tamiya/Italeri kit. The kit itself looks like the italeri kit with some extra stowage from Tamiya

Yeah. This kit was used by several companies. Academy also used it. When I got my Italeri kit, I was looking at the Academy kit. I found that the only difference between the two was the tracks for the Italeri kit were stiffer and the decals. Even the instructions were the same except for the brands being changed. I knew that the Tamiya vehicle was the same, but didn't realize it had extra stowage. The Italeri and Academy kits have little in the way of stowage. I read Tamiya is bringing back their M109A6 this year. Not sure if they are just doing a rebox or if they are adding anything.

I know that it was one of the most fun kits I have ever build. When I started I just couldn't bring myself to stop! I literally worked on it to completion in one sitting. It was one of those kits that reminded me of why I love to do this.
