Oh Sword! Them wing roots! Canyons!
This Dremel tool is king - no it won't melt the plastic!
See, no melting, just a nice Dremel finish!
Stynelrez/ UMP primer is just silky smoove!
Resin cans with kit are not bad...
Shock cone/ intakes fits... but still a step here and there..
Wing root gaps: stretched sprue shims, Sprue goo, Mr Dissolved putty, then smoothed with Mr Surfacer 500.. sanding, sanding, sanding!
Looking like a Lightning now!
Bad idea to spray MRP signal red over black primer.. used half a bottle and several coats
The kit resin seats are ok.. but these Quickboost replacements are like WOW!
Uschi Van der Rosten powders give good metal effects, I'll rub them into odd panels too
Coats of AK Extreme metal Chrome, Aluminium and then mottled with Polished aluminium to give some variance
Sword resin bang seat left, QB replacement on right...
Black gloss coat of Mr color GX2 with some MLT sprayed on wet...
Some subtle mottle effects... ended up not seeing any of this. NMF paints have fine flakes and will cover such black basing I found
Alclad II two on this side, to my eye not as shiny as the AK
This Mirage IIIr from Academy is really a terrible kit...
