Hi Chris
You've got 5 years on me!
I made my first one for 40 years a couple months back, it's on my wall, take a look!
Very basic out the box build but I enjoyed it 😉

VB version, beautiful. Welldone. I have a VB in my stash, 1:32 from HobbyBoss. But the Airfix models bring back a lot of good memories ????. I must say, fit is not quite good and the plastic is very soft. I build in the original prop motor. Included in the 1973 version????. When ready I will make a short movie

I like the electric motor option, I think it's like a slot car motor.
Personally I like the detailed engine compartment with the glorious Merlin on show 👍

Chris this looks very good, some lovely details, pilot is spot on I think 👍
Did you have any real issues cementing the fuselage & wing halves together?

Hi Mukislut, big issues.... first I had to shorten the cabinwalls at the bottom a little. They were so deep down that the bottomwing part could not get high enough. The Left wing connection to the fuselage had only a small gap, maybe 1 mm, the right side was bad, a lot of filler. The big problem is not filling the gaps but the tension on the connections. The left side just broke loose after 1 week during airbrushing. New glue and filler...Airfix 1975 is not Tamiya 2020. But this Spit brings a lot of memories back.

You do have a nice monogram 65 Corvette in your stash, rare and probably expensive.
