Thank you Nathan. I spent four hours today, just adding the PE details to the bare wheel wells. Now looks much better. I had to add a card stock shim to the top of the nose/aft fuselage joint. It will still require putty though. I will try and get some more pictures up tomorrow.

Looks like you're going all-out on these. Nice decal choice for the 23. I used the same set to do my Libyan one (same kit too 🙂 ).

Yes I think I bought everything you could get for them. As much as I would love to build a trumpeter one, I still paid less for these, with all the goodies than the Trumpeter one.

My Esci 27 was crushed during a move (half built), and I got a Trumpeter one for my birthday, but I've yet to get around to working on it.
Nice wheel wells!

You'll still end up spending more $$ to correct the nose on the Trumpeter kit. I bought the correction a year before I had the kit, lol! I also have a huge Kazan correction kit intended for the Esci kit. Combine that with the Cold War nose correction and I can make the variant I'm after.

Also, I see you are engraving the panel lines. I was too chicken on mine😄

Yes, I am re-doing the panel line. I hope they look ok when finished. I finished re-scribing the Mig-27 today, so I can get it caught up with the Mig-23. Hope to have both ready for paint this coming weekend.

Thank you very much Augie. I got the Mig-23 primed today, and the Mig-27 is a complete airframe now. Now starts the PE marathon on the "27".

Nice work Clifford, very challenging to do the riveting...do you haven't any riveting tool/wheel, it might seem more convenient to do so...?! I use "Rosie the riveter", an excellent tool...!

Thank you very much Nathan and Jos. I do have a river tool Jos, I just always forget about it. I did use it on the tail surfaces of the Mig-27. I did not feel comfortable try to use it on the fuselage, but I did think about it. LOL.

Nice looking build so far Clifford. 👍
How well did it go together? I have an Italeri boxing that I believe is from the same molds that I've been considering starting.

You are correct, it is the same mold. I used the PE detail sets for the Italeri boxing on mine, and it really adds a lot. The fit was good overall. I had to add a small shim to the upper fuselage where it mates to the aft fuselage. But that might of been me. I know your kit has a nice decal sheet. I of course had to use aftermarket decals, as my kit decals were only fit for the round file(trash) lol. NeoMega resin makes a nice resin cockpit for the Italeri boxing and it is inexpensive, but very nice and detailed.

You are welcome sir. That is what I like about SCM, everyone is willing to share information and ideas. I hope to get some decals on this beast today.

I know it might be bit too late, but the Polish Floggers carried one roundel per wing but only on the undersides.

Thanks for the Info. I saw that on the decal guide (Montex) but it showed only the underside of one wing, so I just assumed there had to be one on top. To late to fix now, but will remember that for my Mig 27 if it is that way on them also. This one is almost finished. I got all the small details and landing gear on it today, just need to paint and add the seat and canopy.

Oh I missed this swing-wing non-Tomcat project..! 🙂 Not sure I'll dare to start a kit with the tool just one year younger than myself... 😄 Looks great, weathered grey is a great choice on a Ruskie bird, this or the Fencer, yet easily over-done and you got it very nice indeed 👍. Looking forward to the other one in the pair!
