don't you feel guilty by using that miniaturization machine of yours, on real people again??
Neuling, I love your dios 🙂

What kind of surface finish does the cannon barrel have? I like the subtle shinyness of it.

Yes Sir, they are ready 👍 I agree with Nathan.
Very well done as always.
What are your impressions about the base, Neuling, you didn't use it?

Thank you mates! - Treehugger, I rubbed a little "Vallejo - gunmetal gray" with a soft cloth on the barrel (glad you noticed!). - Rui, the base is okay. I used it in another dio for a static antiaircaft gun emplacement. I wanted to show the ZIS 3 in its antitank role, a dynamic situation not really suitable for the well dug out and fortified gun emplacement.

Gorgeous work Neuling. I'm particularly impressed with the detailing of the uniforms and leather pouches etc, as well as the wooden rifle stocks and metal components. Fantastic pictures once again 👍👍👍
What did you use for the foliage?

Thank you mates! - James, all those weapons and personal accessories come with the kit. The foliage is "natural fibre trees" from "HEKI Kittler GmbH, Rastatt".

Thanks Neuling... are they generic model railroad tree foliage or do they do specific foliage for 1/35 scale as well. Would you have a link?

Thank you Richmond and Chris! - James, at www.heki-kittler.de you can see the products of Heki. They only sell accessories for model railroads in scale 1/87, but some of them can be used in dioramas scale 1/35.

Thanks for the link mate. I really like the foliage you used as I think it would look great to use as camouflage on the turret of a Panther tank etc. Cheers! 👍

Amazing Neuling! This Zis-2/3 with crews in fighting is just my next project and I used "Poland 1944" kit which base is a ruins city. Currently I'm thinking and studying how to paint the base.

These guys definitely look determinded and are not out for a play! Love that small wall in front of the gun but it's a complete stunner in all aspects. Very nicely staged and executed, congrats to such a successfully working connection of brain and hands!
