With the finish of the last project of the little Fokker D.V I can't find motivation to continue to work on a shelf queen, so I started another one.
I have not yet build a model from a short run kit of the company Fly, but have some in my stash. So I decided to build this elegant Italian biplane!
Damn, this was a lot of work on the details, but I hope it will enhance the look of this elegant biplane!
I would be very happy if one or the other accompanies me on this journey😉

Mich beeindruckt immer wieder Deine saubere Arbeit. Wie spannst Du diese Winzteile zum bearbeiten eigtl. ein, ohne das sie (wie bei mir) ständig wegflitschen?

Welcome to the show mates! This project is fun for sure😉
So ein Block kann man schon im Mini-Schraubstock halten. Ansonsten mit den Pinzetten nur leicht halten, keine großen Kräfte, sonst sagt es "Fling!".

With all the scratching you do treat us to a complete scratch build{jealousy is a terrible thing)LOL.

Thank you mates!
James, it is very hard to paint correct layers on such air screw, so I create wooden air screws foo all my planes😉 I tried it it also in 1:72, so my Fokker E.V strip down has also a wooden prop (with 0.3mm layers). Only real wood looks like wood 🙂
David, I will use wings, fuselage and tail from the kit, so only small parts are replaced. One day I will do a complete scratch build - I already have and idea. I made some experiments, but the quality was not acceptable. So I need a new idea for tooling before that project can really start. But until then I have enough kits in my stash😉

Crafting a masterpiece again from natural materials with the occasional bit of the original model again..? Fabulous work - as said times and again - great pleasure watching things & techniques that are in the same hobby and which I will probably never (be able to) do! 👍
PS: Watched Myazaki's "The wind rises" over the Holidays (it's on Netflix), so most happy to see an Italian biplane, albeit not a Caproni...😉

My first update in the new year. There was a nice support with new pictures and drawings, it was too tempting to turn to the tail skid immediately!
I am satisfied with the result - this is one of the nicest detail I ever made. It's really fun when you guys are egging me on too.

What you are showing with the SVA model is complete fantasy. I'm looking forward to the next sequel :-D

Thx mates!
@Ludvik You name it "SVA model" Wikipedia says: A model is a simplified representation of reality.
So I create downscaled originals.😉

Fascinating and impressive as always Frank!
That tail skid is a thing of beauty in itself.

Thank you mates, but I must admit that this project has reached the state "On hold". It converted into a heavy scratch work project, but I do not have solutions for all problems. So I put it to the shelf and started already a hopefully more oob build (complete oob seems to be not possible for me), more soon.
