The cockpit was painted using tamiya paints. Seatbelts were made using thin strips of aluminium from a drinks can. I drilled the holes into the bucket seat as they are only slightly recessed in the kit.

I really went to town on this one. I was up all night with reference images, some slightly thinned tamiya paints and a brand new 000 brush, these cocpits are filed with various instruction signs and labels. Also just about visible is the flooring, which sould be wood which is painetd black. For this I painted it mat black and then drybrushed the wood colour over it.

The cockpit and canopy parts have been masked off and everything has received a coat of 'grey ammo one shot'. It's very easy to use and you have lots of control with it in an airbrush. Next time however I will use my old revell airbrush as my fengda 0.2 nozzle one kept clogging and was a little tough to clean.

The model was preshaded with tamifya Flat black and some details have been picked out with silver chrome. The underside was painted lightly with tamiya neutral grey. The internal area of the moulded panels were airbrushed with a lighter grey in a squiggly pattern to give the effect of heavy use and wear. This gave a similar effect to the aftermarket photo etch patina stencils which are also available. The undercarriage area was masked around and painted the same cockpit green mixture as the insides were earlier. The fuselage and wings were masked in some places to allow the olive drab top colour to be applied in the same way as the grey

Album image #6
The body has been half painted with tamiya olive drab at this stage.

The main colours have been completed so the tape can be removed to show the chrome sections. The cockpit and canopy are left masked for now.
