one of the two kits is missing one of the angled struts and all the small struts..... but knew it was incomplete, now going to make stuff from my spare box to make it fit will be a gamble.

I always loved the look of Matchbox kit boxes, maybe it was because the paintings looked so nice and interesting, and detailed.

I need some struts for an Airfix Tiger Moth, and was looking on eBay for the old Aeroclub Strut Pack. It sold for over $35! Think I might just try heating some round strip styrene and putting it between some heavy books and make it into a strut shape…

could you sand the edges of some strip styrene to make struts? I think that is what I would do.

im going to make them from my spare box, got 2 bombay openers from a lancaster I can make 4 out of those
the nose gear of a horsa II (making a horsa I) will be the prop stick 🙂
the gear of the kingfisher can be one of the V shaped struts
and a gun barrel of the lanc that I got spare is also usefull as a strut

yeah think it will be okay, well I hope it will, it helps that I got 2 complete kit, so that helps me with the third one
but got most of that one so dont want to waste a kit so going to build all 3, first these 2

I'm watching this build with interest as well. I don't have this kit in my stash though it's long been a subject of interest. I have a good overall impression of the old Matchbox kits in general which I think I mentioned under your Welly build. Great that you could find suitable stock to replace the missing struts in the spares bin. I would've recommended sanding down triangular or quarter round rod styrene stock for airfoils or simple rod stock for those that don't need the airfoil shape. Still an awful lot of work but at least you have a template in the form of the complete kit, right? Do you plan to add the rigging?

But need to fix some before adding the struts, but because the struts of one of the two are missing I first need to make some of the struts then add the rigging to them then add the lot to the wings

What are you going to use for the rigging. I have used EZ-Line in the past and really like it. And much cheaper than Uschi or MiG.

I thought I saw it available through Spruebrothers but their rigging line is AMMO by Mig. Their website contradicts itself as to whether you can order directly from them or not but you can check with them; berkshirejunction.com/subdirectory/ez-line/
They mention the Wingnut Wings site on the page for a tutorial in using it for aircraft above but checking that site thoroughly reveals that Wingnut Wings are apparently out of stock of EZ Line. The same is true for Red Roo Models & Metro Hobbies.
Hobby Link Japan seems to have it available though some selections are backordered. Some sellers seem to offer it on Amazon as well.
For something closer to home perhaps you should check Super-Hobby.com as they have AK-Interactive, AMMO of Mig and one set from Das Werk as an alternative?
I'm really enjoying seeing these aircraft come together. I'm curious about the identity of the small float plane behind the two Sea Foxes?

After scouring the Internet a bit;
-EZ line 30,5mtr. €11,96 E-bay. Expensive shipping
-Uschi von den Rosten 45mtr €10,50
-Mig under license Uschi von den Rosten 2mtr €4,50 Wich I think this is a real rip off!
-Infiny 45mtr €9,95 O.a. te koop bij Modelbouwenenzo.
All brands have different thicknesses and colors. So, pick your choise 🙂

What a lovely pair of vixens you've got on your hands there - some very fine work! I'm regretting not snatching up one of these Matchbox beauties from eBay back when they were selling for $3.00 + $3.56 USD priority shipping on eBay for my own stash back in the early 00s!

You were smart to stock up! It looks to be a very nice kit and I'd probably like to put a bit of TLC into the interior compartments. I've quite a few kits with extremely delicate struts especially limited run and resin kits but it appears you were able to handle them like a champion.
Do you ever put your builds in modeling competitions? One other question I have for you is about the B-24 you have listed on this project; I assume this will be a Coastal Command Liberator? My grandfather built that very release of this kit back in the 60s. I built the Bomber Command release of it during the early 90s.
