For this metal finish I used a paint called silver bronze, Those paints are also used to paint heat pipes of ovens and such. You need an acrylic undercoat otherwise it will eat the plastic. The silver bronce ist very pigment rich and very tough once dry. So you can treat it with a lot of things, even with those brass brushes for the rotary tool. I polished this with several different rugs and for the shadings I used some pigments I polished into. It has to be very fine and soft pigments. I once made a test with some SBS images.
