Dont take it too serious, this is something you can easily fix again. But neverthelles this is my first sudanese model aircraft I´ve seen so far 🍻

Well according to the few pics I do see I would suggest your mask the red areas, the decals at the white areas and the cockpit. Then I would overspray carefully the white area thinly until the red shimmer is gone. After this you can seal everything with gloss clear and do a panel line wash and seal again with flat color. Should do the job. Been there done that 😉

@Thomas: that was the way I saw it, unfortunately masking roundels and all the small decals properly sounds very hazardous…

look for OLFA Circle cuter tool from Japan. It is like a circle but with a knive. I do own this and you can cut out circles in any small diameters you actually need. Very useful! Alternative would be TEZ071 Masker stainless steel Easycutting Jig 3 from Voyager - there are also circles which you just need to cut out with a sharp knife.

You can simply place some paper (or plastic like kitchen film) over the red areas, and then fix it in place with a single strip of masking tape, that is following the border of the red. Mask canopy and black areas, and paint the rest with white or some light cream

You could also use some very thin red before using the white ( marbling technique). Then cover (not fully) with red, to give a more realistic look, used, not new.
Of course, you can try that on some leftover piece of plastic (old model, piece of flat plastic...)
Using a bir more red and let it be partially seen under the white, will also mean you need to use less white, so you will have more surface detail

Thanks for the suggestions; I agree there are many ways to mask the red, my worry is more: how can I save the decals on the ivory (not white) areas?
By the way this is supposed to be a delivery scheme, so I shall avoid weathering! 😉

ah, i see your point. clean white then.
about the decals, if the area is not reddish, you can place a piece of paper on top of them, covering them completely, and fix it with some tape (over the white)
and then spray the white. the areas that need it.
if you need to repaint up to the border of the decals, then is more complicated. transparent varnish to all areas, let dry for a few days, then masking over the decals. but attach the masking to the back of your hand a couple times, to make is less tacky. and then white and hope for the best.
of course, another option is to get a new copy of the decals (if it is just the roundels, you can even make your own) and airbrush the white just masking the red borders. if a decal is covered, use the new ones.
