Wulf in sheeps clothing

Album image #1
Uffz. Julius Händel, I believe, in the photo. He was fighting a rearguard action as the Soviets advanced through Poland, and finally met his fate at the hands of a P-47 on September the 23rd 1944. Note the Indian emblem. I have chosen the scheme because of its unusual spinner and prop colouring.

Album image #2
Sadly, again, the photos can’t capture the PE and details in this cockpit- they’re there, believe me.

Album image #3
A better view. Took about 4-5 hours to this point

Album image #4
Has been a quick build. 95% of parts in perfect register and fit.

Album image #5
Underside pretty much ready for the RLM76

Album image #6
Another 2-3 hours on, and we’re here. NB a small but significant gap between fuselage and wing on starboard side. Will need a sliver of filler.

Album image #7
Risky! But I decided to add the PE at this stage- I’ve got the plastic as a backup

Album image #8
RLM76 down - waiting for tomorrow to do uppers

Album image #9
One of the more unusual propeller colour combinations and one reason for choosing this subject

Album image #10
Decals on- the main ones: 30 minutes, the stencils, an extra hour!

Album image #11
Starting to look like a Butcher Bird

Album image #12
The undercarriage took some time getting into position- but Eduard’s precision engineering helps.

Album image #13
Always an awkward looking track.

Album image #14
Port

Album image #15
Starboard- “long finals”: weathering, smokes, rigging and final top varnish to complete.
Not quite a “weekend edition”, more of a “short week” ?

Album image #16
Short finals. Approaching the outer marker. Oils for weathering and a few finals glue-ings.

Album image #17
Another magnificent Eduard kit

Album image #18
Corrected the track again

Album image #19
Rigging: Uschi.

Album image #20
Eastern warriors

Album image #21
Best 190 at this scale.
No debate

Following.

Do you have a link about this pilot and / or plane? Sounds like an interesting story.

Hi Bas, thanks for watching!……I have very little I'm afraid- I've seen reports the Russians got him in the end, but 2 separate reports say it was a US P-47 in Nijmegen area that sealed his fate. The Luftwaffe records don't seem as detailed as the Allied ones. Perhaps that's victor's justice for you.? 😞

Thanks Andy 👌 . Luckily the FW190 is not a favorite, or this would cost me lots of hours online research 😉

Not a favourite of mine either Bas. I'm building all significant WWII planes for an aspirational collection. Naturally, this is one of them for the Luftwaffe in WWII.

Andy, faster and faster. I envy the speed of construction of your latest projects. I didn't realize this until now.
Looking so good!

Wow, you're really busy trying to get a dent in the stash, aren't you Andy?

@Cuajete- it helps with good products, and I'm trying to test the optimum flow when building. To improve the process we all go through. The FW-190 and La-7 are a breeze to work with! Thanks for the comments!

@ Jan, sure trying! Just managed to finish the Dutch Hudson too. So I'll declare a few 'completed' this weekend I hope!

I agree with David 👍
Very nice job, Andy.
Congrats!

@David-cheers buddy !! The camo is typical Luftwaffe- all grey/green by the looks. A bit dull, apart from the yellow prop.
