Greg, the decal sheet I have is too thick for 1:72 scale. I've used it in the past and while I did get it to work the quality wasn't good enough for me to do it again unless there is no other way. I need to find a thinner sheet or a local printer that can make decals.

It is looking great. I hope you manage to figure out the decal problem.

The P-70 was made by Douglas. Apparently Revell, wanting to use the unofficial name of Nighthawk, had to pay Lockheed for use of the name due to TM. But why they called it a Lockheed P-70 is beyond my comprehension. This plane clearly should be Douglas P-70.

This stencil is made out of cardboard. Ridiculously expensive for what it is.

(from what i can see) 10~ euros is absurd for cardboard with cuts in it but i imagine cutting into cardboard to try and replicate the pattern on that is pretty difficult, and painting those sorts of patters by hand is borderline impossible in my opinion.

Yeah well, they actually want 14 euros for it. But they claim it is better than metal because it is more flexible. We will see if it lasts after it gets wet. I have a feeling it won't.

Well I wanted to finish this up today before I go on vacation but the stars decided to mess with my airbrush. It was totally clogged from using 3rd generation acrylic in the same brush as laquer paint. The 3rd generation need a dedicated airbrush. It's totally a strange paint. When I finally finished cleaning everything I was having trouble with the Taimya X2. I haven't had so much difficulty painting since I just got a airbrush for the first time.

After working with AK third generation paint for a year I now realize that Tamiya paints smell stronger. It must be because they are a hybrid acrylic. I am starting to prefer the 3rd generation more.

They work well but they are very fragile. The handle is too thin and slips out of your hand very easily. I bought two and both broke, the first one on the first day and the second when I dropped it two months later. I won't be buying them again because there are better options for a little more money.

I will be heading out to various museums in Germany to begin designing accurate riveting guides. There are plenty of aircraft I am interested in but I wanted to ask if anyone has a request for specific blueprints? My only criteria is that there must be a plane in Germany that I can take measurements from. Let me know if there is anything you want.

Thanks Michael, I am working on the blueprints of a Focke-Wulf 190 A-8 right now. Once I am done I will probably start on drawing out the Fokker E III and I will try to check what is required to do the Do 24, although that will take a lot more organization.

What is the difference between rebox and new box in the product timeline? I've seen some older kits that have both several times without any real changes.
26 July, 01:47

If is says 'new box' it is because the main change is in the packaging*.
Normally when it just says 'rebox' on the timeline it is because it not known weather anything other than just packaging changed - decals, updated parts, etc.
When you click on it, it will say something like 'Released: 199x Changed ???' in the details
and if click edit it will say 'Origin: Rebox (Unknown what changed)'
*Changes can be as subtle as a barcode, so you wouldn't necessarily notice from the box top.
Or even the type of box:
De Havilland Mosquito Mk4 or Mk6 (FROG F187, 1:72)

A rebox could also be the kit being released by another manufacturer, e.g. many Revell kits are old Matchbox or Monogram products.

Another reason for just saying 'Rebox' in the timeline is because it was 'Cancelled | Never released'
English light bomber "Mosquito" (Zvezda 7234, 1:72)
Some say things like this shouldn't be included on ScaleMates, but it is important information as they may appear on catalogues leaving collectors hunting for something that never existed. ☺️
