Airfix | No. 08176 | 1:48 | Grumman EA-6B Prowler (WIP)
In the beginning, I had no idea how badly stuff would go together...
I know, I know, it's not particularly accurate!
Getting the cockpit together.
Absolutely everything about this old Airfix kit is way off in terms of fit.
Much clamping, tugging, squeezing and pulling!
This kit really did not want to behave! Wing roots were a right pain in the...
Still finding new mediaeval ways to pull/stretch bits into a more reasonable Prowler shape.
This 'bit' is absolutely miles off. I promise it's not just my ineptitude at work here!
Got it as best I could. Obviously there's still more work to do...
Beginning to work on the underside...
I can sort this.
Better, well smoother. Obviously still a way to go and more panel holes to fill.
These pieces (thankfully) were a pretty good fit.

It looks like a dreadful kit but you seem to beating it into submission.

Haha! Thanks Gorby 🙂 👍 Yeah I think that sums it up. Building something 'right' hopefully outta this kit is my goal!

Love the Star Trek - original series vibes from the cockpit sadly, that includes the seats too.
Woah, zip ties, that escalated quickly! Photo #8 is a previously unknown secret entrance? Kit quality really looks discouraging, well done on making it look decent! Looking forward to seeing it done!
