Time for another armor project. I've almost completed the build of Ryefield Models Stug III G (Early) and I'm impressed with the quality of the kit. The detail is amazing compared to the classic Tamiya armor kits I used to build.

I've built the kit in subassemblies and plan to integrate all the major components at the same time to ensure the fit is solid.

Not sure I needed to do the extra work, but I decided to add some detail to the partial interior provided in the kit. I plan to have the hatches open with crew figures and wasn't sure how much one would be able to see. In any event, there's a little extra depth for the model.

I expect to have the main build complete shortly.

Main camo painting is now complete. Prior to the main colors, I applied primer red and chipping fluid. Thanks for looking.

Making progress. The chipping effect was applied using the hairspray method and I think it turned out OK. The markings were applied using the kit decals. A tan enamel filter was applied to unify the overall colors a bit and then a dark brown enamel pin wash was applied to bring out the detail.

Fading and shading with oils is next.

Progress continues with accessories and the crew. I've painted and partially weathered the spare track, some crates, bedrolls, jerry cans, etc. I also started work on the crew. The commander is from PanzerArt and the loader is from Dragon, with his head replaced with one from PanzerArt. I'm painting the SS plane tree camo scheme and still have more dots to do. The Bismarck is complete. Since the last update, final weathering and crew painting were completed, along with final integration of all the subcomponents.

Overall, this kit was very enjoyable to build. The detail, fit and finish are top notch and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
