Reichsverteidigung Held in "Dogfight Double" Teil IV is RK recipient OFw. Reinhard Kollak and his Freya AN directed Bf 110C-4 3C+LR of 7./NGJ 4 based in Mainz-Finthen, Germany in August 1942.
His "Doubles" adversary will be RAF Lakenheath based 149 Squadron Stirling Mk. I OJ-R, which fell to 3C+LR on the night of 24/25th August 1942 during an attack on Frankfurt by 226 medium and heavy bombers of RAF Bomber Command. OJ-R was Kollak's 10th victory. He would survive the war the highest scorer of III./NJG 4 with a total of 49 confirmed kills, all at night.
Crashing east of Tournai in Belgium, of the seven crew of OJ-R, all survived. Injured during 3C+LR's attacks and a heavy landing from a parachute descent, two were interned as POWs. The other five evaded capture.
