Whilst not entering Russian army service in this configuration, BMP-3 IFVs have been tested with expllosive reactive armor since the 2000s. One of those configurations was a vehicle fitted with the boxy "Cactus" ERA. This really changed the overall look of the vehicle and makes this an interesting subject for modelling.
