Pre-shading is an overrated technique invented by airbrushers with a very steady hand and an unhealthy abundance of time😉 Smearing stuff all over the kit after the camo-coat will do the job😉

Pigments are nice on exhausts, giving them a nice burnes look. Dust pigments on chassis are completely invisible after matt varnish (Vallejo). Shame, I liked the look.
