An M29C Weasel as used by No. 4 Special Service Brigade in Operation Infatuate II, November 1944.
Originally started as the LZ Models M29C kit, but the casting quality, fiddliness and overall difficulty building this, lead to that attempt being put on hold indefinitely. With the release of Takom’s plastic M29, the idea is now to use that and graft parts from a second LZ M29C kit onto it to get round most of the latter’s problems.

The paper template I made to determine the surf guard’s shape, on top of LZ’s etched piece, to show the difference.

After removing it, the result is a basic template of the shape needed for the underside of the bow plate.
