Air cleaners were created by cutting and stacking Evergreen sheet styrene and then sanding and painting. I came across this idea from another builder of the same kit online from a post from a few years back.

Beautiful MiG-31. The MiG31 really comes into its own just by showing it in flight with the right flight angle. Fantastics.

Thank you Ben. It sure took some effort to get that scheme painted onto this model. It's pretty large.

Very nice result! I like using craft paints too. Definitely more cost effective thank my beloved tamiya.

I don't know why, but when I upload my pictures here they are not right in rotation, although in my windows explorer they are. Why is it like this?
18 April, 00:17

This Model doesnt appear with that reference in the revell directory. Any ideas ?
1 31 January 2024, 15:45

The noted barcode 4009803070568 actually belongs to Land Rover Series III LWB Commercial (Revell 07056, 1:24) I'm not sure how it could have happened, but it appears that someone mixed up Land Rover's "LWB" (Long Wheel Base) with Ferrari's "SWB" (Short Wheel Base), and thus this model came into etherical existence, lol

The minicraft B24D model sprues said it was a B24 J model. On a clear sprue was the front part of the B24 D. Instructions show that you need to remove the front parts of each side of the fuselage and attach the new parts. So far so good

There's plenty of room for mistakes. It's not an easy kit, it'll take some corrections and improvising.

17 April, 16:25

Great job, Clifford! (it is a pity that there are no good kits of these early jets...)
17 April, 18:20

Thank you very much Robert. I agree, there are a lot of early jets that I wish they would do good kits of.

Had hoped to build this great looking car OOB but I've some how mislaid the all be it limited decal sheet. I was going to have a go at doing my own decals or stencils but in look for info I found a sheet from DECALDOC.COM which includes all the extra advertising.
2 14 March, 07:42

Thanks #Alberto.
While I know some go for total accuracy I thought with this scale I'd go for the appearance for reality which give impression of what is believed to be real
1 25 March, 19:00

That's great work on this kit. I was gifted one last year and built it pretty much straight from the box. Your additions really take it to the next level.
2 25 March, 21:03

H'mmm. At the moment it's looking like a Machinen Krieger flyer. Masterful work on that old kit though. 👍🥸🤘
7 April, 04:41

Cheers folks sorry for the tardiness of progress, things just keep getting in way.
Hope to get some colour on today finally
1 7 April, 07:01

The shop.decaldoc.de/index.php decals are great design but are a bit of a challenge for me. I find them tricky to get into the grooves so much so I totally messed up the roof top gold and had to cobble together a cover from extra gold decals. I'm not sure how they will take the layering yet so will leave them over night. I like the use of a silver base layer to boost the decals colour and prevent paint colour leaking and affecting the top decal. Another point on decaldoc decals is the top film is the whole decal sheet so you have to cut each out and there is no placement image so a good subject reference is required.
That all said they look good so 🤞I don't mess them up any further
1 8 April, 20:51

The Ford is looking nice, Sy! I didn't know about the silver either, it might be useful in the future 👍
10 April, 07:12

#Ben M &#Alberto thanks for the comments as for the silver under the top decal they work great and are provided the correct size and shape by the decal producer Decaldoc of Germany. I'd never seen this approach before and I'll keep the unused silver decals for future use on my own work as they really give the white a punch - seethe wee Ford logo on the side strip (no silver under ) compared to the white discs!
10 April, 16:00

Well the terror of removing mask struck and in internal glass is all messed up, it looks like moisture however time in sun and in airing cupboard does not help.. I'll continue to gloss and polish the bodywork then I'll take stock befor next steps. I may have a go at cutting out the glass to clean and replace testing a side window first, 🫣 yet more work on a fill in kit 🙄.
Lesson for today is do not fix glass with external masks on check the internal glass is clean, but there you go this is modelling not assembly. Least I've had practice replacing glass see my last model - RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat | Album by Sybar (1:72)
1 11 April, 16:11

Shame about the glazed parts as it looks very good otherwise. Maybe it was caused by fumes from the glue you used.
17 April, 15:33

Cheers guys. I'll try and remove the drivers side window and see if can tell what caused it to fog and if I can restore it, then go from there

Thank you everyone!
@Thomas! Looking forward so seeing your Douglas build!
@Sergej- your F-35 is looking good! I heard that was a bad kit, but didn't realize it till your post!
@Lorraine - Your builds are always amazing! Using a laser cutter to create your latest Spitfire is brilliant!
@Rich - looking forward to seeing another dual build with you and your wife!

15 April, 08:14

Thank you Paul for the notes on the A-6!
@Rui - watching you Mariupol build with interest!
@Villers - love your cars, and watching your Maharaja edition with great interest!
Hi Sergei - I referenced it from the paint schemes in the instructions and checked the photos on the internet - and most of them have the yellow de-icing on the leading edge of the wing roots. After taking a closer look, seems like I missed the tail! 😀. Will work on that as I start the weathering. 😀
15 April, 19:00

CaptGPF,
The build is looking great. As a former A-6 pilot, the only time you'd have both sets of flaparons up and speed brakes out would be on landing roll out. Just so you know. And at times I adjust my builds just because I want to show some various capabilities that interest me. So I get it. But I thought you might be interested in that just in case you had something else in mind.
Paul

@Adam - I love your Aston Martin - can't wait to see the final result!
@Desert Marlin - I loved t-your SUFA, Can't wait to see the Ra'am!
@Dave - would love to see your Falkland builds before I start working on my small armor kits
@Neil - don't know how you pulled off that Revell Tomcat, but you did it!
@Paul - I had originally planned to make this n in-flight Intruder, but the Hasegawa pilots wouldn't fit at all, so I opted to have everything flared out and open as if it was undergoing maintenance. Would these be realistic?
