Christoph SchnarrMy latest project is a German Sea Hawk Mk.101, built from the Trumpeter kit. Although Trumpeter claims to be able to build both the fighter version Mk.100 and the reconnaissance version Mk.101 from the kit, this is actually only possible for the Mk.100. So if you want to build a Mk.101 like I do, you will have to make a few modifications. The suitable cockpit with the radar screen above the instrument panel is available from both Aires and Pavla. I used a mix of both and an additional etched part from eduard for the instrument panel. I also added the camera windows of the Mk.101 underneath and on the side of the rear fuselage as well as the steps for climbing into the cockpit on the left of the front fuselage and opened the prominent ventilation slots in front of the cockpit. The main landing gear bay was also replaced by a resin part from Aires.

Christoph SchnarrThe model of the Sea Hawk Mk.101 was completed yesterday. The markings identify it as a reconnaissance aircraft of the German Marinefliegergeschwader 2 from the early 1960s. The decals come from various sources in order to achieve a result that is as true to the original as possible. Nevertheless, I had to make a few compromises here and there. The paintwork was done with Tamiya and AK Real Colours.
