SkyhikerI will be heading out to various museums in Germany to begin designing accurate riveting guides. There are plenty of aircraft I am interested in but I wanted to ask if anyone has a request for specific blueprints? My only criteria is that there must be a plane in Germany that I can take measurements from. Let me know if there is anything you want.

shadowlightIf it possible i would be interested in pictures from inside of the Do24 (cockpit area and the storage room with the 2 large panels).

SkyhikerIf I can gain access to the inside I will of course make photos. It will completely depend on the museum. Negotiating such things can take time so I hope you're not in a rush. The drawing process itself usually takes at least 100 hours to do depending on the aircraft. This is seriously not just rivet counting but also measuring.

SkyhikerWell I painted the propeller today but afterwards I had to clean my Iwata airbrush and change the needle. Unfortunately the needle noozle broke off in my airbrush and there is no way to fix it! Now I have to rely on a cheap Chinese knock off to finish painting until I can save an extra 150 bucks to buy a new airbrush.

NicolasThat sucks. I'd love to lend you my second airbrush, but unfortunately that's also just an old Chinese product at the moment. Probably wouldn't help much.

SkyhikerSergio the TA 152 had a very different canopy than the 190. The 152 was designed for high altitude flying, was pressurized and had double panes.

Sergio OrdonezThanks you, Skyhiker: I think I can remember now, as I researched about FW190 and TA152 black in the 90's. Also, canopy is bubble-shapped. Sorry, my FW190 Mustang have been gone forever, I expent the night trying to find It, just to find my solution, but I think only the reta of the TA152 has survived.

SkyhikerWhat is the difference between rebox and new box in the product timeline? I've seen some older kits that have both several times without any real changes.

Matthew AIf is says 'new box' it is because the main change is in the packaging*.
Normally when it just says 'rebox' on the timeline it is because it not known weather anything other than just packaging changed - decals, updated parts, etc.
When you click on it, it will say something like 'Released: 199x Changed ???' in the details
and if click edit it will say 'Origin: Rebox (Unknown what changed)'
*Changes can be as subtle as a barcode, so you wouldn't necessarily notice from the box top.
Or even the type of box:

Matthew AAnother reason for just saying 'Rebox' in the timeline is because it was 'Cancelled | Never released'

Some say things like this shouldn't be included on ScaleMates, but it is important information as they may appear on catalogues leaving collectors hunting for something that never existed. ☺️
