Boeing 314 - Pacific Clipper
Very old kit (circa 1967), even the plans are yellowish.
Fuselage halves with transparecies glued with PVA. The injection and plastic quality are not that good.
Fuselage and wings starting yo be assembled. I have cut the elevators, as I intend to do a diorama of the Clipper taking off from a river in Africa (almost had an accident), and will glue the elevatos on the up position.
Continue the assemble.. I lost the entrance door in the nose (it fell somewhere and I couldn't find), so I had to scratch built a styrene one

Used this to make some weathering with dark aluminum.
The model I am depicting was very weathered, once the attack on Pearl Harbour, made it perform a round the world journey.

This is the wood platform I am going to use to represent the Congo River.
This is a rough sketch of the representation I want to make, when the airplane barely made it over the rocks on the river bed.
Decals placed.
Base ready, with rocks made of aluminun foil, water and foam made with cotton,
The top part of the wing with dark foul from engine exhaust using automotive gas.

Gustavo MonasterioThanks to all who liked and are following my construction. The model will be part of a diorama of the California Clipper (later Pacific Clipper) taking of from the Congo River towards Natal in Brazil, after being caught by the Pearl Harbor Japanese attack, and having to go around the world to get back home.
