Album info

Vickers Wellington Mk. Ic - standard medium bomber of RAF in the first half of war. Wellington was specific with its geodetic frames skeleton, making it very resilient against damage. Later the issue was with mediocre performance compared to new bomber designs and Wellingtons were moved to secondary duties (like patrolling Atlantic). This particular machine served with Czechoslovak 311th Bomber Squadron. It served 50 missions, always returned home safely. Later was moved to training unit. ***************************** Vickers Wellington Mk.Ic - standardní střední bombardér RAF první poloviny války vedle strojů Hampden, Whitfort a Blenheim. Unikátní byl tzv geodetickou konstrukcí - většinu konstrukce tvořila kovová kostra potažená plátnem. Letoun snesl hodně poškození, postupně zastarával výkony a nosností.
