Eurofighter Typhoon - "Austrian Typhoons" 7L*WB - DONE
2019 @ Airpower
Cockpit went in smooth - on this version I had all the neccesary parts available (see my "Austrain Tiger"). This definitely alowes a more relaxed glueing 😉
This was interesting - this pile of transparent plastic should represent the HUD,...well. This one will find its way into my spare box (thx to eduard).
Thats the way it should be installed respectively how it should look like according to Revell designers.
Some black is needed before I move on,....
And white on the inner side of the intakes. As other mates aready stated in this forum, when building an Revell Eurofighter, the way this intakes are designed is...a bit unconventional to put it nice.
A side view of the Eduard HUD installed. 👍
More white as the build move on. Not sure if this approach is a clever one - at least I thought so. Looking forward when I remove the masking at the very end.
Deatailing and weathering of the Cockpit is done - closing the canopy & masking of the same.
Decided do go without selfleveling primer this time as the surface looked nice & unharmed so far. Started to pre-shade the panel-lines.
first layer of grey in the areas that will be tricky to paint in a later stage due to the overlap of air intake and fuselage.
Assembled.
Dispite some reports in this forum I did not face issues with gaps between upper wing panel & Fuselage. All parts went together quite well.

Removing the "light" - it will be replaced by a transparent lens later.
Ready for the next round in the paint booth.
Painting done. Taking care about exhausts,...
Engine exhausts,.....
The painting of the radome was done poorly. I detached some paint after removin the masks. I need to redo this.
Checking the lower surface - I like how the shading turned out. Some painting flaws especially around wheelbays need some extra touch-ups.
All painting done,...have to prepare he bird for decal application.
Gloss paint applied for the decals,....
Nice & shiny - I hope that will support good decals appearance.
Lets go for it,... I start with the aftermarket sheet from BrentAir Decals.
Decal #1 is on,....Checking the decal sheet from the kit ,...nearly 100 more (not so colourful & interesting ones) to folllow 🙁
After a couple evenings.....
...I managed to apply all the stencils. Now back from painting I started preparing to glue the remaining exterior parts.
This is what Sykhiker was talking about - front wheel gear is eighter wrong dimensioned or contain a flaw from the press molding process. The wheel axis to not show enough resistance to little stress or pressure to use it OOB. It bends/break away easily and need reinforcement.
Landing gear installed after some mod's on the front wheel.
DONE - a quick shoot with the cell phone. Final pictures will come after the modell show this coming week end. Credits to "starfish" - thx for the track wihch was slightly modyfied to fit scale and picture frame.

Looking forward to visit "Airpower24" tomorrow. This reminded me that I have taken some pictures the last weeks that did not yet find the way into the album. So here we go.

Super Arbeit soweit! der Airpower19 Eurofighter ist nicht ganz so spannend wie die letzten beiden "Tiger" aber trotzdem nice to have 🙂

I had trouble with the front landing gear on this kit breaking. I don't know if was just a fluke or if the mold is too thin. It may need reinforcement.

@ Starfish -thx for your comment. I have the Nato Tiger from '22 on the bench as well. Eurofighter Typhoon - "Austrian Tigers" 7L*WC | Album by jott (1:72)
And you are right - the more colourful livery is way more interessting (application of decals 🙂 - but also to look at it when done). I will up-date the other Album soon.

I am building 2 of those revel kits in parallel - both front landing gears broke already right after taking it from the sprue.... so thx for your advice, I hope other mates receive this info to take precaution.
