Great job on a hideous looking car.
Why are all cars from that era designed with a ruler?

Very nicely finished model of a good looking iconic car.

Thanks guys! Not quite as clean a build as I had hoped for, but a good way to get back in the swing of things. A slumpbuster, if you will. Hoping to have some updates on my other builds soon.

Sorry Martin, I think I have to side with George in this case - I've always liked the lines of this generation of Quattro!

To each his own 😁
I do appreciate the technical marvel it was.
And I do have a NuNu rally version in my stash, so I'm going to build it myself eventually.

Happy to see you are out of your slump 👍🏻

Love the model, I have to admit I like these generation of Audi's as well. But quick question if I don't ask, how do you weather your engine bays and under carriages? I see subtle hints of it here, but you went a little heavy Jeep Grand Cherokee. How do you do that?

Thanks Christian and Karl!

For weathering, there are a few different ways I go about it. For rust, I usually create the texture with putty before paint and primer. On the undercarriage and chassis components, I'll paint them brown first (XF64 usually), then airbrush the actual color over top of that. For dirt/dust/grime, I use a lot of Vallejo pigments. You can rub them in with a brush to the appropriate degree of weathering. Flatter paints usually hold onto more pigment, so you can use that to create contrast where appropriate. I think the most important, and usually most difficult thing is knowing when to stop in order to achieve the look you're after.

Thanks for the tip! I weather a little bit but I've had a hard time trying to perfectly recreate road grime and dirt like that.
