F15A Eagle
What's in the box
What's in the plastic
Primed and pre-shade wash
Body glued together
Looks good so far...
And the other side.
First coat of white, and let's be honest:
This looks terrible with no hope of improvement with a second coat.
So I removed all the paint with Windex. "Use in well ventilated area." Surely a small kitchen counts as such?
Second try, white coat of paint. This looks a lot better. Those darn panel lines can forget about a darker shade!
Mask and paint. See the photo for the difference between Vallejo and Revell Aqua paint.
Revell paint is much thinner, and thus seeps through the cracks a lot more.
Revell Aqua paint: They don't lie, there's a lot of aqua in their paint!
Touched up the white paint and added decals.
The other side with decals.
And the end result: Eternal lift-off. I forget to add a weight in the nose. There was no mention of this in the manual, either.
Top of the plane.
Bottom of the plane.
And a side shot. Later on I'll try to make a scenery for this model, so that I can glue the front wheel on the ground.

First completed project on ScaleMates for me. I'm glad to discover that my skills haven't completely disappeared since I was young.
