Nice progress, William. I have an old 251/1 on the shelf and seeing how you have painted and weathered yours is inspiring.

I like theses Tamiya kits they go together so well that they lend themselves to add details and other improvements

i did find time this weekend however to get back to the bench, the half track is about done im going to place it on a base in a maintenance scene , although i think the front armor bonnet has to come off to get the engine out of a 251 maybe these guys found a way to do it. i had a decal issue again tried to use the Vallejo stuff didn't work out so well left a sticky residue and really didn't settle the decals down well so now im going to add branches to the Half track to cover up the decal mishap, any suggestions as the bast way to replicate branches as often seen in the Normandy campaign would be greatly appreciated

Well,if that's the case. I'll stick with E-2C's. For some reason I don't like the F-35 as much as the F-18.

you will have to enlist as a 19Kilo (armor crewman) and work your way into a gunner position, the normal progression is loader/driver E-1 thru E-4 then, E-4 thru E-5 are gunners, E-6 Tank commander, E-7 Tank Platoon SGT and if you go the Officer route you will never be a Gunner only Platoon Leader for 12-18 months and then will most likely never be on a Tank again. But as a Armor crewman you do lots of training on the tank as well as simulators of all sorts you are responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of your tank and mostly whatever stupid army stuff they have you doing that day

Basic training for armor crewmen is OSUT One Station Unit Training, basic and tank training combined together but for the first month its all basic stuff and after that you are slowly introduced to the tanks where it gradually becomes all tank training in the end and if i remember correctly is 3 1/2 months

It has been a while since my last update but i have been away doing maneuver training but i got the general layout of the diorama laid out, still a lot of work to do but this gives you the idea I'm shooting for I'm torn right now on adding someone working on the engine but then it might be to busy what do you guys think

Personally I think that it would be a good thing to add. I think the only repair crew mencthat are acctuallyworking on something is the tamiya kit

Looks cool; I am doing the exact same kit. BTW I am stealing your idea of putting the hoist crane on rollers for another dio! LOL I tried joining the Canadian Army back in '91 but they wouldn't let me in!

Great diorama! Love the half-track!
Personally I would remove the guy sitting on the back of the half-track (he looks out of place: what is he doing there?) and swap that one for a mechanic working on / around the engine. It would add interest to the spot where you want to also draw viewer attention, right?
Otherwise, superb 👍 👍
