Well, I am impressed with the collection you have gathered around you there Steve and Can I suggest you Try Hobby Boss next time, still Chinese but the detail is awesome and the fit on the wings folded or ready for flight, has no gaps. And do you use an airbrush ? A good build but I notice a little "silvering" on the edges of some of the decal, but that is something we can show you how to avoid next build Steve. 🙂 But I did notice the word "Enjoy" in there too, and that's what it's all about mate !!!

Kerry : Thanks for the comments. I built one Hobby Boss (Mid 15 UTI - see album) and I was impressed, although it too was a cheapie. I only use brushes for painting with Humbrol enamels - most from the late 70's and mid 80's. Just buy new when I need a new colour or one gets yucky.
The Wildcat was built before I found out about Johnson Wax and Decalfix, so I think the later ones are better!
Enjoyment: absolutely! My every day starts at 5.20 with an hour's build and a cup of tea. Plus the fact that as a school teacher with all the planes displayed in glass cabinets in my classroom, I can perv at them every day!
I am in awe about your skills - something to emulate!
Soeren, your build was the reason for my posting the pictures. You are doing nicely as far as the finish on the Spit is concerned.

Stephen, I have the joy of actually teaching cadets of The Australia Air League scale modelling to help them better understand aircraft construction and exploded plan views. They walked away with some gold from the federal review this year in Canberra. I feel good !!!
