Me too, hope to learn a bit and get some inspiration before opening my Heller box.

i have the heller box aswell, my advise, its only good as a source of decals.
thats why i went with the more superiour and easier to come by, revell kit with DACO decals.
compared to the heller kit, its more accurate, and more detailed (full interior).

Well Nils, I bought mostly because of sentimental reasons (always wanted to have a Heller kit painted in the boxart Belgian camo), but thanks for the advice 🙂

Hello Friends, DACO recommends on his new website dacoproducts.com/ humbrol 148 (radome tan )+ a bit of yellow for the stone color and humbrol 105 ( fs 34097) for the green .
I have built the Revell kit as the black Sea King with Daco decals DCD7273 and I have the airfix/ heller kit also in my stash, I intend to build an early belgian sea king with the daco DCD7272 decals of course (after finishing the NH90s )

The reason why I was asking about the colour brown/tan was that I am not too fond of mixing colours and I had hoped there was one that would exactly match the Belgian tan.

for the brown color, i use Humbrol 63, for the green i use revell 363 and for the red/orange nose, i use Humbrol 132.

Please note that DACO do (or did) a range a paint as well. The Seaking tan and green are available: dacoproducts.com/KDCD48.php for the colour references. The stuff is pretty hard to come by depending on where you live. Verschooten in Antwerp used to do quite a good selection of DACO paints but I don't know what their stock is now.
