Cockpit assembly
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/2/8/8/216288-15589-91-720.jpg)
insert cockpit into fuselage. Added some weight to make sure it's not a tail sitter
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/2/8/9/216289-15589-66-720.jpg)
in the meanwhile, straight forward assembly of tailplanes and bits of the payload

A lot of troubles with the canopy, started with the sides, will need some putty on the front

Landing Gear Out !
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/8/6/3/217863-15589-89-720.jpg)
Tricky moment,...it's ALMOST a tailsitter.. scared me for a few seconds. I hope the propellors add some extra weight towards the front.

basecoating

This took a while to figure out. Not perfect, some smudges to clean up.

For those who are thinking of building a Mohawk: ADD WEIGHT! As much as you can. I added some, it was enough, but barely....

Nice one so far. Are there any other things besides weight that you should keep in mind while building this one?

The Canopy is quite a challenge. I spend a lot of time dry fitting it, it would never come out perfect. Putting the side windows in the open position would solve it, but I don't like it that way. Starting with the side windows, then the top helped quite a bit. I will need to fill two small gaps near the bottem edge of the front window
Other things, quite a bit of flash on the spruces, but nothing you can't take care of with some effort. Very fragile landing gear parts (but it makes it quite detailed)

Jonas,
as the ordenance seems to be hollow, maybe you can put some weight in there too to balance the plane some more.

As is expected for any aircraft, ordnance is positioned on the Center of Gravity, almost directly on the MLG line for this Mohawk. I considered/tried it. No way I could fit enough lead in that small space forward of the landing gear for it to make a real difference.

This seems to be a lot of work and a difficult build...but you are doing well and I expect this will be a real eye-catcher!
