Great looking cockpit, Hubert! I like the scheme you are going to do. Making your own decals?

Thanks, Gordon. I'm going to use the decals out of box, the template made of the copied decal sheet is only for the purpose of being sure, that the demarcation line between white and red colour is in the right place. Best regards, Hubert

Thanks, Bernhard 🙂 - I think the plane itself is quite usual and popular (in the former Eastern Block ofcourse), but not often seen as a model indeed. Now I keep my fingers crossed for the decals, hope that the result will be pleasing. Maybe this evening will give it a try... Best regards, Hubert

Hi Hubert, great looking build so far 👍
One question thought: how is the general fit? Just recently rediscovered this kit in my stash....

Thanks, Mates 🙂. I'm waiting for a free moment to put the decals on. As for the fit - well, not bad for a short-run kit, but be prepared with a lot of filler and patience. Wings to fuselage joint and the wings themselves, wheel wells that required some trimming - I think these are the worst areas. Nothing beyond average skill. Best regards, Hubert

Wonderfull.....the kit isn't looking that bad. It's not that detailed butt it seems that you didn't use putty or so.

Thanks, Mates 🙂. Actually, some amount of putty was required, however not as much as one could have expected taking into account the short run label. Used only the dissolved putty from Gunze.
As you can see, I added the decals on the upper side of wings... Bilek did not provide them in the box, so had to buy some other kit of a Chinese aircraft, as a donor. My choice was Trumpy's J-7B, well - will just make it some day as a captured machine, which was evaluated by USAF.
Also added since my last entry are the rivets, made with the RB riveter.
Some camo corrections will be necessary, the photos of the actual aircraft (have found two good photos) show some details, omitted by Bilek in the instruction...
Glad that you like it 🙂

Nice work Hubert. What have you used as a Gloss. That plane is gleaming. Love the weathering too just right.

Thanks, Dan. It's Mr. Hobby Clear Gloss Topcoat, from the can. Love those Gunze's varinishes, they dry quickly (and smell quite nice too😉😢. Best regards, Hubert

Usually using acrylics, usually Mr. Hobby's, but also from Tamiya, AK, Hataka, Vallejo, Lifecolor, Italeri... . This series of clear cotes doesn't seem to react with any of these paints, regardless acrylics, resin or enamels. Work just perfect every time I use them.
Thanks for your comments, glad that you like it, really worth to make something different from time to time 🙂
Best regards

The glossy finish, the expertly done weathering, the striking colours - all very much excellent.

Not my scale, but looks lovely. Pity such nice colours weren't worn in Polish service...
