'50's and '60's aircraft have my preference as well. Somehow they look cooler 🙂
I think an overall aluminum look (with the red) might be a bit bland. Anybody got suggestions about which panels to paint a shade darker?
Also, weathering is a bit past my skill level. I'd like to start with panel lines washes. Which colour should I use? Dark brown or slate grey?

Anybody got suggestions to fix the torn off Alclad? Other than just starting over 😉

Mask around it with very low tack masking, at panel lines. Sand to feather the damage and then clean and paint those panels.

Merry Christmas to you too. And let's hope that you get more ideas,,,,,,,someone else might have a better way to fix that, without having to strip it at all.

Thank you. I'm trying to decide if i like her enough as she is (after adding the rest of the decals) or give weathering a try.

That's a great looking 50s jet! My favorite era for jet-powered flight.

I think it has turned out great. The decals set in perfectly and that is an impressive set of teeth.

Thank you guys. I will update again after all the decalling. I'm thinking if I should use this beauty as a trial for weathering.

The painting is great. Is there a reason why you didn't masked the seams of the fuselage?

Hi Norbert, after glueing the seams looked ok. Even after priming. When the aluminum was painted, the seams became more visible. It looks worse on the photo's than in reality.
The panel lines are really nice, except on the underside near the engines. There they don't line up. You can see it really well in pic 36. I've tried scribing on an older model, not my cup of tea yet. So I decided to leave it as is, and just hope nobody looks at this girl's bottom 😉

My second try to build a (fully) airbrushed model. Using mostly Revell Aqua colors, a hint of Vallejo Model Air, and a drop op Alclad 'Jet Exhaust'.
