Vought F8U-1 Crusader 141340 - completed.
This is how it looks when you should fill the hump (from the inner side) but forgot about this and glued first both wing halves together.
After sanding the are very few holes & imperfections.
Actually project: hump removed and all imperfections filled.
Refueling probe - bulge removed. Gun ports closed.
Nose separated for easier modification.
Filled with CA filler and CA.
Nose modified (more pointy) via Dremel tool.
The "rest" of the hump filled with plastic and CA.
A true puzzle: closed wheel wells area. All demarcation lines restored. On the inside all very thin edges reinforced with plastic.
Grey - green fuselage is an test shot. The fins are remaining parts of my "old" DF-8F project (without fins). Inlets made by Quickboost. Antenna-bulge above the ruder removed.
Vacuum formed windscreen in place and cleaned. Canopy in place. All gaps filled with plastic and CA. Sanding and cleaning comming soon.
Left: kit part with cut out filled with clear material (not satisfied). Right: kit part OOB. Vacum formed windscreen in place.
Ready for airbrushing.
Right side: very good result on the outside. On the inside a little sanding dust...☹️☹️☹️
Left side: satisfied result outside and inside.
Auxilary hole under canopy for blasting away of the sanding dust (via airbrush and 0,6 mm needle).
