Thank you all very much for your kind words, folks! It´s been an enjoyable project, but the next should be a tad smaller 😉

That´s a great looking ship and extraordinary modification of the original kit! A truly lifelike scene. 👍

Well my feiend, I guess this is you masterpiece so far 👍. Excellent research and modification and an excellent model making as usual. Also there are no more words necessary about the amazing water effects. All in all impressive. I'm loooking forward to C U soon🙂
Cheers, Christian
P.S. I'm a little sad to see such nice projects finished without making any active progress in mine🙁 I hope to have more time for modelmaking one day

Great work on the ships and the seascape! The sea is not too reflective, it has a very gentle wave, and photo no.6 shows it to great advantage. Inspiring work Frank, bravo!!!

Thank you very much, gentlemen, your kind words are much appreciated! You can find an album on how I did my current bases here on this site: USS Robin - the bases | Album by Frank Spahr (1:400)
There was a full how to article on the Fine Waterline website, but that seems to be down right now. There will be an article in the next issue of ModellFan magazine in print, and at some point in the future at a German language website, too.
Best regards,
Frank

Very impressive! I didn't see the name of the carrier. How did you fare in the competition?

Album info
After almost a year, I called it quits today. I might add some more detail here and there, eased by the fact that both vessels are detachable from the bases, but right now I feel I shouldn´t do more.
It´s been my biggest project thus far, and the costliest, too, but I feel it was worth it.
I´ll first display it at the Lingen show (Euro Model Expo) at the end of March.
